Paul Payne Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 My 1949 Ford coupe custom named Obsidian Teardrop. 2
Paul Payne Posted August 28, 2022 Author Posted August 28, 2022 Nothing like a fuel injected Ardun flat head to keep things moving along.
Paul Payne Posted August 28, 2022 Author Posted August 28, 2022 The slight tear drop shape of the 49 body, accentuated by the new top, is most evident in a bird's eye view. Also, a comparison was made to the 53 Studebaker, so here is a shot with one I built as a mild custom a few years back. Thanks for all the comments- it came out pretty much as I wanted, except the rear end could be a bit lower. However, this would make a real car a lot more drivable!
Koellefornia Kid Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 Very nice work,Paul! A very nice, unique looking Kustom!
Slotto Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 Pretty cool. I've been secretly following and I didnt think I was going to like it. You proved me wrong. Great wheels and motor. Nice build.
espo Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 A lot of major body work and interior. The front bumper/grill resembles the Muntz roadster from the early 1950's. Integrating the later style roof onto the earlier body is really well done. I also like the Arden head engine.
Paul Payne Posted August 28, 2022 Author Posted August 28, 2022 Again, thanks for the positive comments- My take on customizing is sleeker, simpler, and usually lower. Does anyone see a little Tucker in this? Just began to see it myself..............
Zippi Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 That's a good looking Ford Coupe. It has a Sinister look to it.
Oldcarfan27 Posted August 29, 2022 Posted August 29, 2022 Paul, you're killing it with all of these customs, good eye!
rsmodels Posted August 31, 2022 Posted August 31, 2022 Really nice looking custom, Paul. I love that front end!
