Oldcarfan27 Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 (edited) Seen the General Lee before. That's actually a clone made from a police Crown Victoria, not a real Charger. Look at close up pics of the interior - dash is sheet metal and CV seats are still in place. Daytonas are sad, did that happen from Ian? Edited September 30, 2022 by Oldcarfan27
Dave Van Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 The Duke's photo is old and Photoshop created. The Daytona and Superbird look real......If mine I'd gotten them out.
keyser Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 No trucks to get them out sadly. Couple friends tried.

Fat Brian Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 Wow, you think if a person had that kind of money they would have had a safer way to store them.

It was John Schneider's and here's the proof. https://www.autoevolution.com/news/john-schneiders-general-lee-stunt-car-got-crushed-by-a-tree-in-hurricane-ida-168537.html

No, they’re race cars and concours cars. They use them. Lucky that my friends and homes are ok. Cars too. Kinda rude mocking people that lost stuff. Haha. 1

The owners actually had four wing cars, two of each. They were stacked on lifts. They drove two out but could not get back in for these two. They were still on the lifts when the storm hit.
keyser Posted October 2, 2022 Posted October 2, 2022 Saw that later. Chaining them to lifts probably necessary in weather. Insane.
StevenGuthmiller Posted October 2, 2022 Posted October 2, 2022 Seeing that Super Bird reminds me of a story that I saw where people who were living on their boats were standing there looking at a pile of boats and lamenting their situation. For the life of me, I couldn’t understand why you wouldn’t have gotten on your boat the week prior to the storm and headed up the coast to somewhere safe and waited the storm out. With this car, I would have done the same. I would have rather taken my chances having it sitting in a Walmart parking lot in Mobile Alabama for a week than leaving it where it was. Steve 1
Scott8950 Posted October 2, 2022 Posted October 2, 2022 Pretty sure that's a crown vic with charger sheetmetal notice the steering column with airbag wheel and column shifter.. The car also has a sheetmetal dash.

Steve I thought the same thing about the boats. I would have had a small haul loaded with my stuff. If it went some place els no big loss.

All that would have done is left two destroyed cars chained to the tops of lifts. I don't know if it was the flood, or the wind that did them in. Probably both.
