In the 2023 catalogue they mention the following as new (not new tool):

14551 57 Chevy Bel Air
14552 76 Chevy Squarebody Street Truck

Any idea what kits they could be reissues of?

'57 Bel Air would be a reissue of the kit based on the 90s era Tri-5 tooling that splits duty with the 150 & Bel Air Convertible. It was last out in 2011 in a California Wheels box.

'76 Chevy P/U is mostly likely a reissue of this thing last seen in 2007.

Which traces itself back to the 80s Hot Rod boxing (when it was a '79).

I haven't seen any mention of this one yet, but I am SUPER stoked about the re-release of this.

I've been looking for reasonably priced versions of this kit for years, to no avail.

Will be grabbing a few of these.

Mentioned on page 2?

Line to thank me for the Corrado reissue starts here.

It was a pricey original and missing the decal sheet, but I just HAD to have it...

Could you please buy the E36 BMW M3 next, please? Thanks! ?

I came VERY close to spending way too much for one on many occasions, but managed to stop myself.

Now it's the Tamiya Volvos that I'm dangerously close to buying.

Dragon is the one that tooled up that series of E36s, RevellAG just reboxed them.

Yes, I am aware, I was just attempting a joke since Revell also last sold it around the same time as the Corrado, and it’s reissue (Dragon or Revell) is as unlikely as the Corrado had been in my mind all this time, but thanks ?

I believe that the '57 that is going to be reissued is the snap version of the '57 Bel-Air since the previous '57 that has been around since the '60s and was last released as the Ed Roth version has been purchased by Atlantis and is on their current list of new releases. The '57 based on the '55 & '56 kits were the 150 Black Widow kit and a 210 series sedan not a Bel-Air.

Thanks Luc, I appreciate at least one person here can read.

The SnapTite kit was just reissued in 2019 and is still in the active catalog. ?

But at least RevellAG owned the Corrado, they couldn't reissue It because they chopped the roof off it to make the Cabriolet version.

That pickup kit is nothing to get excited about. Very basic kit, inaccurate chassis and poor details.

And then some!

Horrible Revell Kit, Shares it's engine with the Revell Courier and Luv Kits. Also boxed as the Sneaky Pete Pickup (last seen in the Blacktop Warriors box) & the Midnight Cowboy Wrecker. All use lousy Wheels that are waaay too wide, and have a front axle that is scale thickness, which means it is too weak to support the huge wheels, and breaks easily.

Avoid it, at all costs.

Other than problems with the Engine halves not fitting right, it is a great kit.

Nobody glues those together anyway ??‍♂️?

Guess I'm an outlier, then.  ?

I think overall it might be the most accurate '57 Chevy in a plastic kit.

spacer.png

Better even than Revell's own snapper as mastered from the Monogram 1/12 kit patterns.  The front wheel arches are too rounded in that kit, and the roofline follows the rear DLO curvature too closely, instead of crowning just a bit over the heads of the rear seat passengers.  Not only is this kit superior in both of those areas...

spacer.png

its top achievement, I think, is the front bumper; the closest ever in a plastic kit, it's molded in such a way that the parting lines are at the rear edges of the sides that wrap around to the wheels, instead of just marring those surfaces square in the middle as most every predecessor did.  I even think it's just about a fit on the AMT new-tool kit, which would spackle over a number of sins in that one.

I don't recall engine halves being overly difficult, but the custom wheel option was evidently thrown in without much of an eye for fit.  I had to grind a LOT off their mounting bosses just to get them inside the fenders.  Otherwise, pretty trouble-free.

I like the Revell '76, even though it's inaccurate. My older Hot Rod version had a lot less flash than the newer release I have, hopefully they do something about that. I don't remember any problems with the front axle, mine's still supporting the truck. It does have those two piece tires though, but it has a bench seat.20230202_184707.thumb.jpg.9db44e284d28944ab2995ba550076fa9.jpg20230202_190041.jpg.14e0b795ec83fcf2715ce6162fcd3f74.jpg

If it’s going to be the ‘57 Bel Air 2-door post kit, then I’m in…

Revell should keep the new-tool ‘55-56-57 Chevy kits in constant release rotation.
