Not what you would expect from the first build of the year at this website!

Ok, here is the story.  I got nothing build or even started in 2022.  I had some major health issues that involve losing sight in one eye, lost of fine motor skills and a heart that just doesn't want to behave.  I am looking at open heart this year, so I am just happy to still be here

My kids knew how much I missed my time with my models, so they decided that this should be my Christmas present!  The thought brought me to tears.  I finished it yesterday and really got back some of the pleasure.

Before you blow off lego models, know this.  The expert kits are very complex with a lot of parts that have to go on just right.  Imagine if you will a kit with almost 1,800 parts (the largest has 10,001).  I had more than one instance where I had to disassemble parts because I didn't follow the instructions(390 pages) precisely.  It was great fun and really helped my mental outlook.  Perhaps I will get to back out to the bench in 2023!  I can only hope.

First of I hope everything goes well with your heart surgery. I have heard a little about the Lego car kits but have never seen one. Interesting to see something like this, and the way it has been detailed. I like the way they molded the different components and what looks like the Banana power source.

I'm hoping your surgery goes well. Modern doctors and medical procedures are very advanced and should give you a new lease on life. Your kids are great. Keep hope alive and stay positive. Best wishes to you and your family.

First , I wish you a healthy new year and the best of luck in your medical procedure. Your kids had a brilliant idea. That's a great way to start the new year. ?

Having been a lego fan for most of my life, I can agree that these can be difficult, well done on your children for getting you something to build. Hope to see you back working with styrene again this year.

Legos are probably very good therapy for your motor control issues, so this was a great idea from your kids.

I had no idea these were so intricate. Looks pretty good when done, too.

I hope this year treats you kinder medically, and in any other way you think 2022 fell short, Pete.

LEGO is my son's (40) main hobby. He has a big city he is working on. Yet to build one of the big cars.

I do a little lego.....just for fun. I like Mad Max and very few kits.....so....

Great that you are hanging in there and I hope everything turns out well for you! That’s a thoughtful gift! We have had similar gifts for some time, the 5 year old made Elsas’s ice castle this year and the son a Star Wars figure. So I get what you mean with Lego models!
Glad you liked the danish gift!
