Mike C. Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 That sucks. I was a fan. I was just telling one of friends the Jeff Beck never seems to age over the years. Great guitarist. R.I.P.
stitchdup Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 He was a big hot rod fan too, a few were built at socal speed shop and one he owned since the 80s. I dont think I know much of his music though

Mike C. Posted January 12, 2023 Posted January 12, 2023 I can remember seeing him on an episode of My Classic Car. He had a replica of Milner's Deuce Coupe from American Graffiti among other things.
iamsuperdan Posted January 12, 2023 Posted January 12, 2023 This was my introduction to Jeff Beck. And my dad saw me digging it, and he busted out a pile of records. Jeff beck solo, Yardbirds, Rod Stewart. All kinds of stuff. His work with Roger waters was pretty awesome too.

1930fordpickup Posted January 12, 2023 Posted January 12, 2023 5 years ago here in Michigan I got to see him live. Good show. Buddy Guy opened the show. 1
Dragline Posted January 12, 2023 Posted January 12, 2023 This one is a very large bummer. I have been a lifelong fan of JB. I will be listening to a lot this weekend and I have a couple of live shows on DVD. Got to see him twice and both time were just fantastic. Such a legend and I am certain the tributes will be pouring in. Recommended listening? Blow by Blow and Guitar Shop
slusher Posted January 12, 2023 Posted January 12, 2023 He was an amazingly talented artist who shined when he played. His fans and music industry lost a great, my Jesus be with his family.. 1
iamsuperdan Posted January 12, 2023 Posted January 12, 2023 Alan Cross is a very well known music journalist here in Canada. He had a good article this morning. https://www.ajournalofmusicalthings.com/rip-guitar-legend-jeff-beck-taken-by-meningitis-at-age-78-was-he-the-greatest-guitar-hero-of-all-time/
TonyK Posted January 12, 2023 Posted January 12, 2023 For me, he's one of those guys I've heard here and there but couldn't tell you an exact song I like. I remember someone would play an album and it was very enjoyable to listen to his guitar playing.
Mike C. Posted January 12, 2023 Posted January 12, 2023 I can remember having Truth on vinyl as well as a few others. Boat loads of Yardbirds stuff. Even a bootleg or 2.
Joe Nunes Posted January 12, 2023 Posted January 12, 2023 A legend in our lifetime. I can still recall hearing him playing with the Yardbirds and thinking he was really going to be someone special with that guitar playing of his. Rest In Peace. Joe
