ewetwo Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 My last AIRFIX. I like these kits but this was the last one I was interested in. Looks quite good. Used my Molotov chrome pen to jazz it up a bit. Only thing is it’s missing the little hood for the motor compartment. The kit had duplicate rear tail gate pieces but no hood. Contacted the US division but the reply email didn’t sound too promising. They kept asking for a part number. There are no part numbers. Just instructions with numbered diagrams of each step of building. 4
cobraman Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 Looks pretty good, shame about the missing part.
carl63_99 Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 Soooo, this is like a LEGO-ish toy built up?
Bugatti Fan Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 (edited) 1/24th scale like the others in their snap kit cars range. A bit Lego like but some have a bit of potential. Wish Airfix had done them with the same snap kit approach as Revell and Lindberg a bit more like conventional kits. Edited January 20, 2023 by Bugatti Fan
rrb124@sbcglobal.net Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 First of these Airfix I've seen built. Good looking.
ewetwo Posted January 20, 2023 Author Posted January 20, 2023 (edited) Yes. Doesn't seem I'm getting the part. Thanks guys. They build up pretty well. At 40% off at Hobby Lobby. They run around $11 or $12. Here are the other 2 I bought and built. Odd thing is they don't make a bottom cushions for the seats. You see the lego circles. Edited January 20, 2023 by ewetwo 2
ewetwo Posted January 20, 2023 Author Posted January 20, 2023 (edited) And they are sending the missing part. I'd like to see this one. https://www.hornbyhobbies.com/products/quickbuild-ford-mustang-gt-1968-j6035 Edited January 20, 2023 by ewetwo 1
ewetwo Posted January 22, 2023 Author Posted January 22, 2023 Thank you Lee and Larry. Great kits where kids can connect because of the lego theme.
beeRS Posted January 22, 2023 Posted January 22, 2023 Very nice bus. Your other two builds look good too. I bet Airfix will sell loads of these and hopefully they will bring new people into model building.
ewetwo Posted January 22, 2023 Author Posted January 22, 2023 Thank you Carl. I hope you’re right Sonny. They have all kinds of different kits though not all the EZ builds.
Zippi Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 All 3 look Great and the diorama looks nice as well.
Phildaupho Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 Yours looks great. Having owned a 9-window sunroof almost 50 years ago when I saw this kit I had to get it. I put it together with the grandkids awhile back. I was very surprised and pleased how good it looked once completed.
rrb124@sbcglobal.net Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 Yours looks so good that I bought one last night at HL. The left rear corner piece is very wrong and mishaped. Saved my receipt and will return to HL. Fun, good looking kit.
iamsuperdan Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 Hmm...your build makes me think I might need to grab one of these. Looks great when built!
ewetwo Posted January 26, 2023 Author Posted January 26, 2023 Thank you Bob, Phil, Robert and Dan. The one thing that puzzles me with these kits is they don't make bottom seat cushions, They have the little round Lego things exposed. They went and manufactured a pretty decent kit and I don't know they didn't follow through and make them.
happy grumpy Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 Great looking VW. Did not know about these kits. Great paint job. Too bad about the missing part.

Too bad about the missing part. That's the color of the plastic though I did coat them with Pledge Revive It. I did add the chrome trim. And they are sending me the missing part. ewetwo Posted January 31, 2023 Author Posted January 31, 2023 Well they sent me the missing part by way of sending an entire kit. With the correct engine cover. Can't complain about that.
