I picked it up last week and put a new frame under it since the bumper brackets were broken off,put in the 390 from the 34 p/u and tried to make it look like a late 50s FE.  It had something on the right front fender so I made it look like a repair was started, did not touch the rest of the paint or interior.

I really do not need to build or rebuild any more since I have plenty but could not pass this one up since it came in a box of other models that were given to me,I do have a coupe I built back in the 70s that I do need to do something with.

Like the way you restored this little forty. The fender work does add to the character of the model.

The fender had what looked to be glue on it and no way could I ever touch up the paint so I just sanded it off and made it look like a repair.

I think you had the right idea with that paint Jeff. It's probably the old Testors candy red over gold and almost impossible to blend in and look 1/2 decent.

If it was a real car it would probably get flames or scallops to cover the damage but like David said above, it adds to the character of the model.
