Supernurd Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 Not a bad kit, but it was a lot of work to get things to fit. I extended the hood about a sixteenth inch to close the gap at the front. The box engine isn't worth displaying so I glued the hood shut. Taillight and antenna are scratch built. The paint is lighter than it looks in the photos. 8
Supernurd Posted May 5, 2023 Author Posted May 5, 2023 454, the original color was saddle tan poly, but I settled for an Earl Schibes light brown $69.99 special.
Kah puts Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 Clean foil, clean paint, clean assembly = bingo, you nailed it ?? 1
Sidney Schwartz Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 Very nice work, nice detailing. I'll have to add that one to my very long list of kits to buy. ? 1
TooOld Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 Great job detailing this one especially the emblems , very nicely done ! Nothing wrong with gluing the hood shut , I've done it a few times myself . 1
espo Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 Great looking Impala. Nice color combination. Due to the older tooling the AMT '63 Impala isn't as nice as the Revell issued one. The Revell has a small block and not as well detailed in that area as the AMT. Clean building and detailing makes this build. 1
carrucha Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 Cool Impala. Good job making a simple kit look good. 1
