Chris Smith Posted May 7, 2023 Posted May 7, 2023 I have been working on this for the past 5 weeks. For those who know about these large kits, it’s mostly screw and glue. I have added some additional touches wile building this. I have a few little things left on this before I get back onto the Ferrari. lots of pictures ? so sit back and I hopefully you’ll like what I have done so far 5
Rattlecan Dan Posted May 7, 2023 Posted May 7, 2023 I'm exhausted looking at all the work you did! Absolutely Incredible! I have to agree with Tom on this. I can't do this. I sure do enjoy looking at your hard work though. Thanks much for posting. 1
Pierre Rivard Posted May 7, 2023 Posted May 7, 2023 Superb work as always Chris. The weathering you have done to the chassis and engine gives it a lot of life. The front wheels look a bit odd on this Pocher kit. I don't know if it is the color or shape... and were they still using spinners then?
TonyK Posted May 7, 2023 Posted May 7, 2023 Looks fun. A lot of work but I'm sure you're enjoying it. 1

I am with you on the wheels, they are growing on me…. As far as the spinners, from my understanding yes.
Bainford Posted May 9, 2023 Posted May 9, 2023 Good looking Lotus. One of Colin's all-time greats. Nice work. 1
Oliver77 Posted May 13, 2023 Posted May 13, 2023 Just glue and screw? Oh my! Thanks for letting us live vicariously seeing this done so well. 1
Bugatti Fan Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 (edited) Not really into F1 cars but it I were to choose one, it would have to be in that striking John Player Special livery. A splendid model taking place here in Chris's build that I am sure will be a real centre of attention when displayed. Edited August 9, 2023 by Bugatti Fan 1
Moparman18064 Posted December 15, 2023 Posted December 15, 2023 I was looking at that kit. I have a 1/8 Grip version waiting in line yet, I only hope it looks close to the quality of this build.?
absmiami Posted December 15, 2023 Posted December 15, 2023 I actually would love to see a comparo thread involving the old 8th scale kit - which i built 40 (gulp) yrs ago and the Pocher - from what i have seen on line - the Pocher “kit” is not a great improvement - … and i still think Pocher should offer an unpainted kit option … well - i guess the tires are better - the profile of the tires on my older 72 were just poor … 1

absmiami Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 That much for a kit with bad tires and an only OK engine - convince Mad Mike to print a few more 8th sc Cosworths - use his engine on your old 72 - and you’ll really have something - and as long as im spending ALL of you holiday cash - consider getting those after-market tires -

I reached out to him, we will see what he says. As far as the tires, I was scared to look them up yet. I have some 1/25 cars to get done yet, then I have to get back to my 1/12 Testors Countach that I haven’t touched in 30 years about 1/2 built.
Kenmojr Posted February 18, 2024 Posted February 18, 2024 These Pocher kits are simply impressive but a bit pricey for me. Here's a youtube video on Pocher model kits.
Bugatti Fan Posted February 20, 2024 Posted February 20, 2024 Superb build by Chris on this thread. I have been thinking about this kit having now read this thread and Matt Bacon's build over on the Britmodeller Forum. 1
Randy D Posted February 22, 2024 Posted February 22, 2024 Hi Chris, It's big and it's awesome !!!!! Such an iconic car. Randy 1
