Racing "tribute" version. There was no 1973 GT-R race car due to the oil crisis. Nissan built one up as a "what-if" but it never actually ran on track.

In for the Tamiya Lancia and whatever that BMW Gr5 looking thing!!!

Thanks for sharing

Unless they've tossed some P/E at that Lancia it's the same kit that's been available since 1977. Nothing on the little placard says anything about new parts and the Alitalia livery is how the kit was done originally. It was reissued in 2018 with a metal plated body as a limited edition, now it's back with the decals (which I suspect will be missing the tire logos and any other pesky expensive licensing).

After posting I checked the listing for it and noticed that it said "tribute".

New from Tamiya,  a tire coating, here is what it says

TIRE COATING FLUID (87220 )

● Tire polishing coating agent.

● Car model, motorcycle model, RC car, mini tetrable driving, etc.
It is a glossy coating agent for rubber tires.  Water type has good growth、
It is easy to wipe it off.  Shake the container and infuse it with a few drops of cloth, on the rubber tire
Protect the surface by applying it and finish it in a glossy black.
● The phenomenon of old rubber turning white, 「 Blooming 」 is also the point.
● If you apply it to a white tire, beautiful Tsuya will be revived.
★ Water-based type polybottled content 10 ml.
※When used on rubber tires for running due to silicon coating agents、
The grip of the tire may be reduced.
※Check the regulation when using it on the race entry machine.

Hopefully Aoshima will retool a new chassis with proper wheelbase for the 180SX, I will still get a few even if they reuse the S15 chassis again.

Can't wait for the Rover SD1 to go with the Volvo 240.

The indent is too stark maybe?

Hard to judge that sort of detail on a rapid prototype.

it looks a little too sharp on the edges and kinda deep towards the back of the hood. Between the lights looks a little bit flat as well but neither detail  is enough to stop me getting a couple

Nissan raced the "Hakosuka" GT-R in several Japanese Racing Series (1969-1972) most famously the Japanese Grand Prix when that was still a Touring Car race, not an F1 event. In 1972 the Skyline flipped to the next generation (Ken & Mary colloquially) and in 1973 the 2nd Gen GT-R debuted...directly into the Oil Crisis. Only 197 of the factory street cars were made and Nissan pulled out of racing without ever building the car as a racing platform.

They did however build a one off Racing Concept Car for the 1972 Tokyo Auto Show with the #73 on it, an indicator of a future that never arrived. In 2007 NiSMO completely restored the original concept car as part of Nissan's Heritage Collection.

This is borderline silly. Next they'll be selling mini air fresheners for your interiors.

Perhaps. That was my first thought when I heard of the stuff, but then they mentioned it as a treatment for 'blooming' on old tires. I have a ton of old tires turning white & powdery, and this stuff just might be the solution (pun not intended). I have tried soaking them in bleach, which seems to work, but I hate messing with bleach.

The treatment is for their RC line

I feel like the LB works Murcielago is a little redundant. Would have liked to have seen them introduce a Huracan roadster version.

Isn’t this the first LB Murcielago? They’ve done two Huracans and two Aventadors.
I’m really looking forward to this!

Minor point of order the Porsche 911 GT3 and the Porsche 911 RSR are two different cars that race in two different classes and series. The RSR is visually larger in dimensions and was more powerful in terms of it's performance vs. it's GT3 cousin.

That Rover and the T.50 are must-haves. Kind of digging that Skyline too. Still wish Tamiya would release some more classic sports car kits, I know the 300SL was a big hit for them. The Aoshima BTTF DeLorean looks like a lot of the time machine stuff are separate parts... maybe a stock one is on the horizon?
