Italeri 1/12 Alfa Romeo 8c

Hello, I recently joined MCM. Before posting my first wip, I would like to show a few pictures of my latest build.  A 1/12 scale Alfa Romeo 8c from Italeri.  As a reference car, I choosed an actual 1934 Alfa that was recently sold in California. I have yet to receive the custom made decals.

Here is a quick review of what was done:

Rewired wheels

Real leather upholstering

3d modelerd and 3d printed internal engine parts (engine actually turns)

Functioning brake linkage

Cam shaft added

All interior to match ref car

And many more details

A very nice, beautifully detailed build Francois.    Did you use the Unobtainium wire wheels set or re spoke the kit ones?

Those pre war classic racers make lovely models in 1/12th scale and hopefully we will see a few more kits come onto the market like Italeri's Bugatti.

Maybe they will make a Bentley Blower as that old Airfix kit is now looking a bit dated and someone needs to replace it with a better more detailed kit. But there are plenty of other lovely classic racers.

Thank you Bugatti fan,

I respoked the wheels myself.  A very fun jod!! I'm currently doing the Airfix bentley and, yes, it is very outdated. But I think it only adds to the fun and challenge of making à nice model. Here is a link to my Alfa photo gallery, you'll see how I did the wheels and the rest of the car.

Francois...first off welcome to the forum.   I see you are not new to modeling. What an awesome model. So much attention to detail.  Followed your link . Even more awe inspiring. I have this kit but I don't think mine will even come close to yours.  That took a lot of courage to re-wire those wheels.  Will you do the same for the Airfix Bently.  Always wanted to do that to mine which I also have.

Thank you all for your kind words, it's always nice to see that the effort one but in is appreciated.  For the wheels,  I would say it took more patience than courage and yes I'll do the same to the bentley. I'm also very proud of the working crank and pistons that the base kit doesn't provide.  For those of you who are familiar with Pocher kits, if they can have a working engine,  why not this one !!

Amazing build. Excellent photos. Although I’ve been researching for years (I’m pretty slow), this could very well be my one and only reference for my shot at this kit!

Thank you, thank you …
