Finks Garage Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 I acquired this '64 in May as a rebuilder in a bag. It had been stripped of paint and in pieces. I thought it was a '65 at first. To my surprise it was a '64 and glad it was!! Parts list: Splash Paints - color and clear on body Craft store paint for interior color. Pegasus rims, tires and disc brakes. Detail Master goodies under the hood. Mr. Model decals for center of seats and door panels. Detail Master steering wheel painted to match interior color. Shifter from 32 Vicky custom interior. Was going for a period custom/lowrider from mid to late ‘60s. Turned out to be a great addition to my collection! Enjoy 19 2
Chuck Most Posted August 24, 2023 Posted August 24, 2023 Love it. Bonus points for keeping the straight six. ? 2
espo Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 Great looking paint finish and color. With the stance and the lowered suspension along with the supreme wheels it has the low rider look. 1
Can-Con Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 Great color combo you got going on with that one. '64s are hard to find. I have a '64 wagon but I've been thinking of using an old '65 Elco body I have to do a conversion as the wagon body is missing the cowl and a chunk of the left fender. 1
Bainford Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 Beautiful El Camino. Colour and wheels both perfect. I really dig the six, too. 1
carrucha Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 (edited) Cool El Camino. Nice stance and wheels/tires. Good to see a straight six instead of a V-8. Edited August 27, 2023 by carrucha 1
Zippi Posted August 28, 2023 Posted August 28, 2023 Pretty sharp looking 64. Great looking straight 6 in the business end. 1
XYHARRY Posted August 28, 2023 Posted August 28, 2023 Nice and low Elco there Larry. I'm a big fan of using a different shade of the same colour for the interior. Using the inline six makes sense for this style,"low and slow." Well done. Cheers, David. ?? 1
Koellefornia Kid Posted August 29, 2023 Posted August 29, 2023 Sweet! Lovethat early low rider style! 1
ncbuckeye67 Posted September 5, 2023 Posted September 5, 2023 Awesome rebuild! I really like the green paint. The straight 6 really caught me by surprise! How do you tell the 64 & 65 apart from each other? 1

The 64 has a straight across hood where the 65 have a peak in it, pointing outward in the middle. Blue on is 64, red one is 65.
ncbuckeye67 Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 Thank you! The grille is very obvious, with the bar across the middle. The hood is noticeable, but a bit more subtle.
Rattlecan Dan Posted September 22, 2023 Posted September 22, 2023 Great looking build. Really pulls off that low rider feel to it. I don't think they were ever meant to haul anything, anyway. Great paint and color match up. 1
Street Rod Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 Liking this one a lot, clean and stylish. I’ll have to agree with everyone else, kudos for keeping the straight six. 1
bbowser Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 I too love the Stovebolt. How did you do the headlights, they look very good?
James2 Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 A lovely Elco build, proper stance and perfect colors. Nice job, I'd like to see it photographed with a proper background!
