xs650shawn
Started this recently. Going for a mild custom/pro touring look to it. Swapping in a 440 from the '68 GTX kit. Wheels from Revell Dodge Sidewinder show truck. Made some lowering spindles for the front end.

The four speed that comes in both the Roadrunner and GTX kits is the same, just using it.
beeRS
I’m loving those wheels. Good stance too.

xs650shawn
Well, tried painting, experimenting with Quick Shine as a clear. Got some runs on the body. Tried sanding, and went through the base color. When I tried touching up the color (Wicked Silver metallic acrylic), remaining clear started bubbling/lifting. Oh well, into the purple pond. Will redo the silver, and back to 2k clear. Not impressed with Quick Shine at all.
xs650shawn
Body now refinished, Stynylrez primer, Createx Wicked Silver metallic, 2k clear. Much better. Also got some other parts painted.
Bills72sj
That is an interesting color for the engine. If Quick Shine is the same a Pledge. you can remove it with a household ammonia and cotton swabs. doing so does not bother solvent based paints in the least. I recleared the roof on my Chevelle 3 times with no affect on the color.
Zippi
Turned out pretty nice on this one. I'm liking the Silver metallic.
David G.
It looks like you're off to a good start despite the paint hiccups. David G.
xs650shawn
Just a WIP pic. Most painting is done (except for the grille, which I forgot about), and I can start assembly and detail painting.
