A typical old AMT kit . I don't know if it's a fluke of a feature of the kit but mine had a chassis that did not fit right. The wheels were not centered with the fenders. I had to move the chassis back by almost 1/8. The wheel base was right but the whole thing when put in the locator holes was way too much forward. I just cut the pins and moved it back but now the rear was interfering with the bumper. I did my best to correct it but , well , it's part of the hobby, right? Otherwise it went kind of ok , some minor issues that you would expect from these old molds. I'm just glad we can still have them. Paint is a custom mix of Tamiya acrylics metallic brown and copper. as always coated with TS 13 and a light polish to finish up. It will sit next to the newly  re release of the Revell 70 cobra jet which I ordered yesterday.

Thanks for looking.

awesome work looks great
the chassis issue might have been cause they modifed this kit at some point in the 90's to  make a 69 torino talladega  kit and that car had a longer front end then the torino cobra does  you can see optional parts from the talladega version in the parts trees with all 69 torino  releases after it

This is not an easy kit to build but you did a great job with it. It came out very nice. I really like your color choice and your background looks very appropriate.

Nice looking Torino! I love the color! Mine had the same issue with the wheels, I basically did the same thing you did.

I've  always like this generation of Torino. The color choice is perfect and the details make your build a standout. As a side note,  I think the Talladga was a Revell product, though I could be wrong.

That looks great Mario. Your choice of colours is perfect and your heads up on the chassis will be invaluable when it comes to building mine. Well done and thanks for sharing.

Cheers,

Excellent work! I love the brown with black combination. Thanks for the heads up on the kit. If this is one of the Walmart kits, they're are AMT repops, so we should expect some assembly & fit issues.

I have one almost done, I put the Talladega nose on it decades ago. I'm onto the 2nd paint job and had the stock car decals go bad. Back in the box...

That's a good looking 69 Ford Torino Mario. Great looking color.  Despite the issues with the chassis it turned out pretty nice dude.
