vamach1 Posted October 12, 2023 Posted October 12, 2023 I started on this a few months ago and finally finished it last night. It is “out of the box” with just some extra painting. I have seen some amazing build already and other threads have covered just about every pro and con (very few) of the kit. I did have to use superglue and epoxy and a rubber band to make sure the chassis and front valence would stay glued to the body. The next one I build I will test fit more to see if there are creative ways to make the final assembly easier. As others have mentioned the decals are very thin but thankfully there was an extra BOSS 351 decal for the front fender that can in handy. I ended up painting the hood versus using the while decal and just used the thin outline stripe - same for the line just above the black that I painted along the bottom of the car. This kit deserves the skill rating as I think back to the AMT and MPC 71-73 kits and how simplistic they are in comparison. Since the kit has two full sets of the body decals (silver and black) if you buy two kits you essentially get two sets of decals in case there’s a mishap. I cannot wait to see the 007 Mach1 version in person and I’m sure some others will get one built before I do. My final thought are take your time and enjoy this kit - it was won’t the wait. PS - don’t tell anyone the color is a GM Duplicolor spray can I had in my stash but it seemed like a perfect match for Medium Bright Yellow. ? 19
RocketFoot Posted October 12, 2023 Posted October 12, 2023 Looks GREAT, Rex! I love the color! I'll be starting my AMT soon and then this Revell after that. I'm still gathering supplies, ordering parts and building a spray booth in my basement! Your build is giving me more inspiration to get a move on it, LOL! Well done!
espo Posted October 12, 2023 Posted October 12, 2023 Beautiful looking paint finish and color. The body trim detailing looks great as does the engine.
karbuildr Posted October 12, 2023 Posted October 12, 2023 Very well done build. This kit sure is popular and that's good news for everyone, particularly Revell.
Yeah Nah Posted October 12, 2023 Posted October 12, 2023 Looks brilliant Rex. Captures the full size perfectly. BTW, I've told everyone I know you used a GM color on it. ?
Hard_2_Handle_454 Posted October 12, 2023 Posted October 12, 2023 Looks great. This was a fantastic kit.
vamach1 Posted October 19, 2023 Author Posted October 19, 2023 Thanks for all the compliments everyone.?
tim boyd Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 Yeah! Another completed build of this excellent model kit! Way to go, Rex. My fervent hope is that the enthusiasm for this kit on this board (not only the initial reactions, but the quantity and quality of the completed builds posted here) is indicative of a strongly positive hobby market reaction (e.g., strong sales results) to this kit. An overwhelming market success for this kit would go a long way in building confidence at Revell's ownership group that fully detailed kits (including complete standalone powertrains) and replicas of first generation musclecars are a genre worthy of additional investments of time and money for future kit product choices...TIM 1
Jer Posted April 14 Posted April 14 Do you still by chance have the silver striping decals from your build. Looking to replace I messed up mine.
satterwhite78 Posted April 19 Posted April 19 I had a coworker stop by the house one time, saw my model collection and display and made the comment " Do you think you have enough Dodge Chargers?" To which my reply was " A man can never have enough Dodge Chargers!" To which my comment to you is that "A man can not have enough Mustangs! Even if he builds "one more Revell Boss 351".
iwantmodels Posted April 20 Posted April 20 I'm glad to see another one and you hit it right out of the park. Well done.

ea0863 Posted April 24 Posted April 24 The whole build came out great, but I gotta admit - under the hood is particularly well done!
