I want to like that kit. Today in my lunch break I was watching the HPI Guy video on it and I thought I was warming up to it. But when I think about that kit right now I just kinda feel like I have COVID. 🤣

IF it had a regular bed I'd love to take a run at the thing.

I see some real possibilities for a really cool looking truck there.

One could narrow the bed to represent a step/ sport side and drop the duallies if the rest of the kit is half decent. this is one I'm not familiar with.

Revell is going to release the Captain Hook, Snap Wrecker sometime this year. That Wrecker Bed should swap onto the Ford Kit with minimal issues.

If ANYONE could do something cool with this kit, it would be Chuck.

I believe if you pull the bed off and pull a gooseneck or a fifth wheel and haul your tractor around.

One decent kit I’d like to see repopped is the 1/24th scale Monogram 1969 Torino Talladega. I need to replace one that didn’t survive a move. It seems like making the parts for a standard Cobra version wouldn’t be that difficult either.

I'm wondering how accurate the cab is. I have the remains of a Monogram F-350 that I dropped a long time ago. Maybe the cab and part of the flares could turn the 1991 F-350 into a 1983 or so?

The cab, to my eye, is more accurate than the Monogram and MPC offerings of that generation of trucks. The drawbacks are that for some reason the cab of the pickup versions of this tooling are wider at the back than in front of the doors; to get it to look right the rear bulkhead needs to be sliced in three to narrow the section under the window. Then there's the one-piece window insert with highly visible runners front-to-rear. And the deep tint in previous issues.

I don't know how well that would work, seeing the Monogram kit is 1/24 and the Revell kit being 1/25 and all.

Regardless of any other proportions/dimensions, I can't get past the profile of the body sides.

I agree, the only kit that really gets the profile on the sides of the body on this generation right is the AMT kit of the 92 body style. I was someone would do a good kit of a bullnose, especially with the later grille.

Possibly derived from a diecast? Kits from a diecast always push the lower body out to far.

I'm guessing the chassis is the same one from Revell's Captain Hook wrecker? I have had the Monogram Bullnose Bronco, the MPC, and the Revell version. From what I remember, the 1/24 Monogram and the 1/25 Revell version were the same way, with the lower parts almost straight.

Maybe this truck discussion would be better served over here...

... instead of here in the car discussion section.

Yes, I agree with you.

Can't believe there's still comments coming 4 months into 2025 in a thread about expected releases for 2024 when there's a perfectly good thread for 2025 floating around 😄
