Oldriginal86 Posted July 28, 2024 Posted July 28, 2024 Paint looks great and that color pops in the light. 1

Hodrodz Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 Digging this build!!!! The stance with those wheels and tires is perfect!! 1
dino246gt Posted August 6, 2024 Posted August 6, 2024 We each have our own opinions. I like the custom grille, except for the 2 lights in the center. I would rather it have tubes all the way across. That's what makes this hobby so great, we all have ideas in our heads, someone else may not think of it unless we share them. And I love the fact that we can express our opinions and not have it seen as a "nasty" remark. Yeah I think a stock grill would suit my personal taste better, but it's not my build, I love it for Topher! It IS a beautiful build, Topher! 1
NOBLNG Posted August 8, 2024 Posted August 8, 2024 Very nice! You are putting a lot of work into this one Topher and it is certainly paying off.?? 1
mrm Posted August 9, 2024 Posted August 9, 2024 Looks really good. The wheels are perfect choice for this truck. I dig the grille too. 1
TopherMcGinnis Posted August 22, 2024 Author Posted August 22, 2024 Being self employed is alot of fun. It does take away from bench time though. I've been racking my brain trying to figure out how to do the interior. I think I may be on to something here.... 2
Zippi Posted September 2, 2024 Posted September 2, 2024 Coming along nicely there Topher. That 2K clear did the trick.

TopherMcGinnis Posted September 10, 2024 Author Posted September 10, 2024 There was a remark earlier about the grille being "ugly". I think I'm well on my way to removing said ugly. ? 1
TopherMcGinnis Posted September 23, 2024 Author Posted September 23, 2024 Got the dash installed and the chassis/interior primered. I hope to finish this guy soon! 2
TopherMcGinnis Posted September 23, 2024 Author Posted September 23, 2024 Alclad Magnesium for the chassis/interior and grille surround. This stuff is EEEAASSSY to use! I think ALL of the ugly has been removed from the grille ? 4
Oldriginal86 Posted September 26, 2024 Posted September 26, 2024 Grill looks great! That’s how it should have come in the kit. Well done. 1
TopherMcGinnis Posted September 29, 2024 Author Posted September 29, 2024 (edited) Got brakes, axles and spindles installed. Front wheels are glued in place. Got a little tweaking to do for final body alignments. The engine is ready to go in once the driveshaft is made. We're without power since Friday morning at 8:15-ish. So I'm working by flashlight ? Please disregard the mess. Edited September 29, 2024 by TopherMcGinnis 1

Steve H Posted October 4, 2024 Posted October 4, 2024 Awesome looking build Topher. Love the low aggressive stance on this. ?? 1

I really like the direction you're going on Stitches, maybe a pair of totally enclosed seats with open sides on the head shapes like most sprint cars have for better side vision. Something that is needed for a street vehicle since they don't use spotters?? 1

Something that is needed for a street vehicle since they don't use spotters?? Well, you see, what had happened in my mind was.... My original plan was to paint the truck the same color as the Chevelle(in memory of the one i had in the '80s) and park them side by side. Both are '72s, so....anyways I asked my buddy(big NASCAR fan) if he had an extra side exit exhaust as I thought that would look cool. He brought me an old kit he wasn't interested in finishing and the rest of the story is on the shelf. I'm almost to the point of installing that side exit exhaust. 1
