DanL Posted May 29, 2024 Posted May 29, 2024 Saw a "Bright Orange" 1970 Mustang cross the auction block recently and really liked the color with black accents. I used Krylon Pumpkin Orange with a white primer base coat and got a good approximation of the Bright Orange color. The paint went on easy and the bare metal foil also went smoothly other than the glue residue left around the edges. The glue removed easily with soap and water. This newly tooled kit is a great build with a few issues. Hopefully we will see more of this quality kit coming from Revell in the future. The decal kit was a treat... really nice quality and full of extras to add character to the build. I made some changes as I went along including a front end drop of 2mm, Spark Plug wires and Boots, and a Dip Stick. The problems came from a front end that sat too high and bumpers that had vague mounting points. I recommend building this kit even though the 71 mustang may not be everyone's favorite. (I think they should have done a new 1970 Mustang in all it's variations) Cheers DanL PS: The engine blue is much darker without the camera flash 32

vamach1 Posted May 29, 2024 Posted May 29, 2024 Beautiful build. That was a very rare color for the Boss 351.
Rattlecan Dan Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 Beautifully done! Great attention to paint and detailing. Nicely done decal work. Great job!
70 Sting Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 Awesome. Love the colour plus engine and interior detail. ?
michelle Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 Awesome work I may get another of this particular 71 mustang I might get the revell 71 Mach 1 kit to do this other project with
happy grumpy Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 a nice rendition of a great kit. I built mine almost the same color as yours. I looks awesome with the black trim. Great job on the engine. Like you, not my favorite mustang but the Revell kit is so good it starts to grow on me. I hope they will make an Eleonor version if they can have licensing for it.
Hard_2_Handle_454 Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 Looks great. I was like that with the green car I did. Saw another one like it, and knew I had to build one.

ncbuckeye67 Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 That looks amazing! The color combination is awesome. I think after 70, the Mustang got really ugly (especially base model Mach 1s), but the "Boss" edition is gorgeous.
espo Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 Beautiful looking paint finish and I think Ford called that "Calypso Coral". The factory style striping all looks great. The chrome trim and engine detailing are cleanly done.
