Having more promo style kits offered - would be great. Especially with several tire & wheel options and decals...

Admittedly, I will buy virtually any resurrected old AMT or MPC kit that Steve G and the fine people at R2 can get to the shelves.  I’d be in on the Comet and Tempest, but perhaps even more:

’66 Skylark GS

’65-‘66 Dodge Monaco, Polara

’68-‘69 Impala

’66-‘69 Bonneville

’65 Olds 88

’65-‘66 Barracuda in stock form

’73-‘74 Charger

’72 Road Runner

’73-‘74 Challenger

’67-‘68 Galaxie

’60 El Camino and Nomad wagon

’59-‘60 Buick, Pontiac

’63-‘64 Bonneville, Grand Prix

’58 Bonneville

’59 Galaxie, Edsel

Etc… I could go on, but fear I will lose my audience…lol

Really, any and all resurrected tools that we all thought were long gone just a few years ago, are a gift!  Thanks Steve G. and Co.!!!

And 1971 ,1972 Impala

The Hemi What?

I think he was referring to the modified “Alexander’s Drag Time Deora” issue of the Dodge “Deora” show truck. Years ago it was hinted that a reissue was in the works…

I wouldn't mind seeing a re issue of the Dodge show car that was turned into the Flying Dutchman funny.

That would be the Charger III.

First time I've seen that box. The artist goofed when he left out the B-pillar; we didn't get a real Corvair hardtop until '65.

I don't know who to attribute this build to, but they did an awesome job on a very rare kit.

If they ever bring back the 1957 Ford, it would be nice if they could include the side pieces for the Meteor grille

Maybe do the side trim as a separate piece, and some photoetch badges so they don't have to redo the whole body.

On the hardtop, at least, they are round.

Pretty sure he meant the Edsel wagon taillights that were a custom option in the original kit.

The last version for that tooling would be the Canadian RCMP 1973 Caprice tool.  Mounting holes were added to the roof for the light bar.  If they could find the original body mold, we could have the ‘73 Caprice back again.  Unfortunately, for the ‘71, that was modified into the ‘72 and then that was modified with even more changes to the ‘73 Caprice.   Of course, they could always clone them and we could possibly see the ‘71-‘72 Impala again.  The question would be, would it be the ‘71 or the ‘72?  They could do both, perhaps.  However, I don’t really see that happening.

The question remains, whatever happened to the original 1973 Caprice body tool?  The ‘74-‘76 is a completely different body mold.  Since the ‘74’s had so many changes done for that model year, MPC just decided to make a brand new body tool for that car.  The ‘75-‘76 Caprice was based upon the new for ‘74 body tool.

This was the first kit I ever bought! Paid $1.50 for it at a little hobby shop.

Nice. Here’s my first ever kit bought/built in 92. I was disappointed when I opened the box & found black wall tires instead of white. IMG_2542.jpeg.e1e338ba8bf82160ef4d9a7fa5720ccd.jpeg

Time Machine Sportster model.jpg

Yes yes yes, because I know that cars and motorcycles that have been in movies sell more historically. Tasteful Iron Sportsters has been seen in many movies, in the Johnny Depp movie Cry Baby there are two Sportsters, a model K(flathead) in most scenes while in the driving scenes it is just an iron Sportster. Personally, I think that a prerequisite for getting decent numbers is that a kit contains all original parts, ie the original parts of the 1:1.

My suggestion.

A modified clone of the '71 - '77 Dodge tradesman van, this time curbside as only the oil pan is visible, but more detail on the chassis suspension and dress-up parts.

To start off, I have two versions in mind:

Custom Van, full interior with separate rear and side "cargo" doors with and without glass, and optional parts like skirts/spoilers, porthole options, side-exhausts, wheels, and rear-covered spare tire. Then there's the matter of artwork, options galore LOL

Van 1976 Dodge cutom

Dirt-bike service Van, full-service interior with separate rear and side "cargo" doors, with and without glass,  optional parts like 4x4 set up, metal-on ramp, rear-mounted ladder, roof mounted spotlights front and rear, roof rack with accessories ( Jerry cans, tarp, wheels/tires) and maybe include a dirtbike. Decals; Kats dirtbike team!

Dunno yet, if the van should be as a shorty or similar to the Mpc anual also depends on more possible future (window) variants like an Ambulance, and or national park 4x4 touring bus
