There is a largish pool of water fed by and underground spring behind my house and has become a resort for green frogs( non native species for Newfoundland) was out having a look around one morning( August) and spotted a Blue frog! Did some research and it’s a one in 2. Something million chance of a green frog having a pigmentation anomaly.

FINALLY had the opportunity and energy at the same  time to get started on my '32 Ford Tudor Sedan Build-Off project. I hope I'm not too late to finish on time!... My model building area is not unpacked and set up yet, so everything was dragged out to my patio...

Little white-and-black kitten I rescued after its mother abandoned it (shortly before she got squashed in the street in front of my house) absolutely hated me for almost three months, hissing and scratching every time I went near its cage to feed it, or took it out to try to get it used to people.

Over that time it grew big enough to let it go (the local Humane Society wouldn't take it, saying they're already swamped with rescue kittens), and has now decided to be my friend, running to greet the truck when I pull in (with it's cousin, another feral whose mother got squashed and is full-grown now), letting me scratch it's head, and trying to get in the front door every time I open it.

My indoor cat, a feral kitten rescue himself, is the grandfather of these two, and I'm kinda thinking about seeing if they can all get along inside. I really don't want 3 cats, but I'd hate to see anything bad happen to any of them either...and the recently-arrived local drive-bys seem to actively TRY to hit animals lately, 3 cats smashed flat in front of my house in the last 6 months.

You’ve got a good heart Bill.

I worry about every cat that I see wander through my yard, even though there’s a good chance that they might belong to someone.

Especially in the dead of wnter.

It hurts my heart to think of some poor cat huddled up under a tree in 30 below weather with a 40 mph wind, trying not to freeze to death, when he should be comfortably curled up in front of a warm fireplace.

Northern Flicker.. I've seen these guys in the yard many times. They prefer ground hunting but will also peck at insects infesting trees. They've been known to have a life span of up to 9 years. Their rapid head movement reminds me of a Metallica concert head banger.

The one that spent all spring pecking on the fascia of my roof isn’t gonna make it another spring unless he moves on to someone else’s roof!!!

Not my yard but in my son's driveway.

Second time they found it there in the last week!

Think I would eliminate that nest of leaves, maybe it won't come back?

They have twice! So far his neighbours have trapped 5 and a dog killed another.

He set a trap last night.

Don't even know if this would help, but I'm trying something I saw online about repelling mice. Spray the area under hood with Lisol. Seems that rodents and maybe others don't like the smell. Works well for cleaning surfaces anyway.

Will have to try that.  When I had a Cadillac STS a few years ago, mice ate the wiring harness when it sat outside.  I have glue traps under my CT6 and Mustang, but the Jeep sits outside..

Keep Decon under front and back on the ground will eliminate your problem. I had a Thunderbird they liked totally eliminated my problem with Decon..

In the past I used the Decon in the wedge-shaped box when we built a new home in what used to be a field that they had grazed cattle in. The rodent infestation in that new garage was more like a Rodent Motel 6. I put a couple of the wedges in the garage and the problem was solved, except for finding the dehydrated carcasses here and there around the garage. They didn't even smell. They don't seem to offer those around here and for the last three years we've been using the old fashion traps and what they are selling now as Decon along with a local commercial exterminator putting traps in our garage. The traps on a board seem to be the most effective. With winter approaching I'm looking at any alternatives I think might help. Where we live there is a large habitat for rodents along with all kinds of woodland creatures. We have a small creek nearby and lots of trees. brush, and undergrowth between us and some farmer's fields nearby as well.

At least you will not have to do a frozen Turkey this year for Thanksgiving.

They trapped the little guy and relocated him to a wooded area several miles away after a long twisty drive. Same place others from the neighborhood went to.
