RodneyBad Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 (edited) For what its worth, I called Police Car Models.com and they did say Lindberg took their C.C. Info. BTW: Nice guys on the phone over there and said shipping for a case (6) is $12. Well, that is to my Zip code anyways. That would save me at least $60 from my LHS So I went ahead and gave Police Car Models my CC info on just 1 (case ) Guess well know as soon as they do how real they will be. RodneyBad Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 BTW: Thanks for the Update Danno Your A-Okay in my book.
highway Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 They may be late to the party, but they are the ONLY source of current, state-of-the art equippage such as light bars,... Any word on what lightbar (or lighbars) are going to be offered?
RodneyBad Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Any word on what lightbar (or lighbars) are going to be offered? The Undecorated one will have all eight styles Go here and see http://www.policecarmodels.com/li1dochpocar.html

ra7c7er Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Thanks Rodney, I can already see I'm getting a few of the plain ones JUST for lightbars! My wreckers need them! I was thinking the same thing. Maybe we will get lucky and Lindberg will release the lightbars separately too.
highway Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 I was thinking the same thing. Maybe we will get lucky and Lindberg will release the lightbars separately too. I just hope they don't prepaint them like they did in the last issues of the Crown Vic not long ago. The Georgia patrol car I have doesn't even have the lightbar painted correctly.

As for the idea earlier that Jeff bought and paid for a run, that seems like a giant gamble seeing is how those of us who pre-ordered were never charged until now. Wonder how many people still wanted to get them three years later since the economy took a thorough dumping on so many people.
charlie8575 Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Did I see a New Hampshire State Police car in those pictures? Cool! I may very well grab one of these and do a Mass. State Police car. Charlie Larkin

Wonder how many people still wanted to get them three years later since the economy took a thorough dumping on so many people. Here is a Quote from Police Car Models that wasn't there yesterday. We have some orders that are more than 3 years old for these kits - so we will be contacting those who placed pre-orders to verify that they still want these kits. Watch your email box for a message from us if you preordered any of these kits before Jan 2011. See below for available models. I'm more Excited than a child on Christmas..
highway Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 Wow... just in time to be outdated! Well, isn't that how it works nowadays?? Look at AMT, they offered up the COT NASCAR kits, and by the time they hit the shelves, they were outdated, too!

Chuck Most Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 So... don't count on a 2011 Chrysler 300 kit until 2016 or so...
RodneyBad Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 So... don't count on a 2011 Chrysler 300 kit until 2016 or so... Will we Ever get a Police car before they are outdated??????
niteowl7710 Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 (edited) Well considering it will probably be mid-summer before the 2011 Police Chargers start hitting the streets, there's plenty of time to enjoy these kits. Especially since other than the taillight and rear trim change (went from saying DODGE on the LHS of the trunk and CHARGER on the RHS to just saying CHARGER on the LHS) this car will make any 2006-2010 car. With currently available decals you can make... Federal Agencies Amtrak Police FBI Police DHS - U.S. Border Patrol DHS - U.S. Customs & Border Patrol (dark blue stripe) National Park Service Ranger Department of Veterans Affairs Police (only select hospitals) U.S. Secret Service Uniformed Division Police State Agencies Alaska State Police Alabama DPS - Highway Patrol Arkansas State Police California Highway Patrol (Recruitment, CVE, & regular patrol) Delaware State Police Florida Highway Patrol Georgia State Patrol Idaho State Police Illinois State Police Indiana State Police Iowa State Patrol Kansas Highway Patrol Massachusetts State Police Michigan State Police Mississippi State Highway Safety Patrol Montana Highway Patrol Nebraska State Patrol Nevada Highway Patrol New Hampshire State Police New York State Police North Carolina Highway Patrol (black over silver, and silver over black) North Dakota State Patrol Ohio State Highway Patrol (10 test cars in 2008) Oklahoma State Highway Patrol Oregon State Police Pennsylvania State Police (5 test cars in 2010) Rhode Island State Police South Carolina Highway Patrol South Dakota Highway Patrol Texas Department of Public Safety Utah Highway Patrol Wisconsin State Police Virginia State Police Wyoming Highway Patrol *NJ, CT & WV also use Chargers, but they are all unmarked units* Colorado State Patrol issued a cease and desist to Bill Bozo on his decals, I'm not sure about JBOT, since I know he actually had a letter of authorization from them at one point (he still shows them for sale on his website...I'd grab some while you still can). JBOT also has a variety of Canadian agencies that use Chargers. Municipal Police/County Sheriff Agencies Broward County (FL) Sheriff (white car) Columbus (OH) Police Dallas (TX) Police (white car) Houston (TX) Police Montgomery County (MD) Police Montgomery County (MD) Sheriff New York City Police Los Angeles (CA) Police Philadelphia (PA) Police Scott (LA) Police Trenton (NJ) Police Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police I was also thinking about the idea of Lindberg releasing the lightbars separately...all you need to do is get ahold of those of us who are getting the "blank" kits. A case (turns out to be a dozen per Lindberg's usual case count) will yield 96 lightbars, and only 12 of them are going to be used (if that considering slick-tops). So I expect a "black market" for the lightbars will develop on eBay. I know personally once I have multiples of the same few lightbars I'll mail 'em out to whoever wants one or two of the others. highway Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 I know personally once I have multiples of the same few lightbars I'll mail 'em out to whoever wants one or two of the others. Concider me first in line James!! If you get a case of them, I'll help get rid of probably at least 20 or 30 of those extra lightbars. Yes, I do have that many wreckers and other things needing lightbars in mind!
TheCat Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 I can't wait. I'm going to buy a few myself.
niteowl7710 Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 (edited) Heard from Jeff today via another forum, that he popped open a couple of the "pre-painted" kits and the were blank white. The only differences being the decals. They all had the 8 lightbars, and both wheel options. Allegedly they're making 1,200 of each of the kits...although I bet if they sell out they'll make some more. Edited February 15, 2011 by niteowl7710
