Nice detail and wiring on the engine Steve.

I think it looks fine, maybe a light blackwash would help bring out what detail is there.

David G.

That is a great idea David. I do have most of the Tamiya wash colors, looks like black would work best with a pin wash.

Thank you David, Steve

I haven't built many car models lately so this is another practice build to learn more about this model.  1st coat is Tamiya primer and then lightly sanded, followed by a rinse of tap water with a medium soft brush to whisk away any left over sanding residue. Then I applied 3-4 coats of Mr color metallic blue did not sand any of the paint, it would have been a big mistake. I then sprayed 3 coats of Mr color clear gloss followed by a very light wet sanding with 4000-6000 micro-mesh sanding sheets. Then I applied 3 more coats of clear Mr color gloss and wet sanded again with 6000-8000 wet micro-mesh sanding sheets. Finished up with Tamiya med, to fine polishing compound. I know you all have much better methods, so for me  this is kind of an experiment.Hope you like it so far.

I don’t know what “better methods” could achieve that you haven’t Steve! Your paint finish is stunning.? Love the color, and the chassis is looking great too.?

That interior looks Awesome dude.

Thank you Bob. I'm just taking a break from doing model aircraft for a while. I think model cars are more fun to build.

A big thumbs up!

Thank you Rich. The picture of the Cuda brings back some memories of the one my foster brother had, it was a 440 six pack and had a kick that would pin you in your seat. Use to chirp in every gear, and lighted up at intersections like the drag strip without any bleach!!

Interior painting. Not sure why there weren't any seat-belts included with the kit.

Great work.

Seatbelts weren't quite standard equipment back in 1957. I have owned a 1:1 vehicle (sadly not a '57 Chevy) for 41 years that my grandfather bought brand new in 1965. He ordered the optional front lap belts so it has them, but nothing for rear seat passengers. The US government mandated seatbelts be provided for new vehicles in 1968, and local laws required their use much later.

I agree with Greg's earlier comment - your paint job is excellent!  Lots of time and attention being paid to detailing - very clean build!

Need help with the trunk, how to you get it to open and close. I don't want it in the open position if I have to glue it in place.

There is a very good tutorial on this in the main index. You can look up door and trunk hinges
