happy grumpy Posted January 14 Posted January 14 In my opinion, this is the best chevy 57 kit ever produced. Lots of details, photo etched parts even BMF, plug cables and chassis details. I was inspired by the 57 chevy as seen in the movie Andromeda strain where we see that Chevy quite a few times. The car in the movie was a four door,I didn't have it in me to modify the kit so I left it untouched. I went for a few years of use look, a few rust spots here and there, faded paint but still in good shape. Although we never had a Chevy, my father would check everything before we would go on a long trip, oil , trans, tires, battery , radiator etc. This is what this little vignette is trying to convey. The outside background is from the family land . A really nice kit of the 57. I have built a few over the years but this one is the one I enjoyed the most. Thanks for looking. 14
Chuckyg1 Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Nicely done. I like the subtle weathering. Looks properly used. More realistic to me that way. I coulda sworn that first pic was a real car.
Steve H Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Another nice build Mario. I love the backdrop you have there, great photos.
AMT68 Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Looks great Mario. I wasn't aware of this AMT version with the opening trunk.
Zippi Posted January 15 Posted January 15 I gotta tell ya Mario, some of those first pics look pretty sharp with the Diorama you got going on. I'm really liking this one. Nicely done man.
70 Sting Posted January 15 Posted January 15 So, the theme is: no matter where you go, the vehicle is gonna breakdown. ;^) All kidding aside, this is a cool build and your 4th photo, the one with the Autumn trees is the distant background, sets a new standard for you! 👍
1959scudetto Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Very good looking Chevy, Mario - your model bases/photo backdrops are very cool as well and add very much to the presentation of your wonderful models.

Neither did I. I found this one on a website that sells old kits and new kits. Not sure if AMT made this kit in other editions. 6 hours ago, Ulbo said: Nice one👍 Thanks Rastislav. 6 hours ago, Zippi said: I gotta tell ya Mario, some of those first pics look pretty sharp with the Diorama you got going on. I really enjoy setting these backgrounds, It gives a little bit of context to the subjects. 5 hours ago, Tom99 said: Very nice!! ncbuckeye67 Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Beautiful work! The weathering is just enough that it looks very realistic. 1
Plastheniker Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Weathering of most modelers looks overdone, but yours is absolutely realistic. Rust only on a few spots and the differently bleached paint are spot-on! 1
TransAmMike Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Just seeing this one from ya Mario. Wow, as usual you have completed another gem!!👍👍👍 1
karbuildr Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Excellent build. Very well done with subtle weathering. I really like your dioramas and photography. 1
