Duddly01 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 I am getting this error every time I try to post to an existing WIP thread of mine. Any ideas?

Dave Ambrose Posted January 24 Posted January 24 I've tweaked the settings a bit. As an anti-spam measure, we have flood control enabled. If you try to post within 45 seconds of your previous post, you're going to get blocked. Thinking about it a bit more, I wonder if this isn't what you're running into. Say something here if this keeps happening.

I seem to remember encountering a similar problem here a few years back that was triggered by the inclusion of certain words within the body of the text. I don't recall now specifically what those words were. But when the error kicked I could usually identify which word or words were causing the problem. They were usually words like "insertion" "attachment" "sticky". Not those words specifically, but words that model builders may frequently use but could be problematic in other contexts. I don't know if the information is helpful but there it is. Cheers! David G.

Ace-Garageguy Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Maybe it's the backup camera disrupting the CAN bus... 2
LennyB Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Oops, there goes another rubber tree plant... If you post too soon you will get a message stating you have to wait to post again. So the oops message has nothing to do with that.
Dave Ambrose Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Those of you having this problem -- I cannot reproduce it. Would you please post the date, as exact a time as you can (let us know if it's approximate), and your time zone (plus any daylight saving time status)? I will see if I can find something incriminating in the server logs.
LennyB Posted February 4 Posted February 4 We seem to have two threads about this same issue. Maybe we can them merged.

Dave, I'm having this strange problem at the moment, this is the first time I've had any problem downloading and posting an update on my thread. I've had this problem since this afternoon. I am in province of Quebec, Canada and it is Eastern Standard Time. I posted a text only and it works, it looks like it's related to the images I want to download. As always, these are .jpg that I post and always in the usual way since I became a member of the forum.
harti20 Posted February 10 Posted February 10 (edited) I'm having this issue as well. It's now 8:01 pm in Central European Standard Time. I just wanted to reply to a topic of mine where I haven't posted anything for a few months now. Just in case it might help investigate further: I'm on a Mac, running macOS 15.2 Sequoia, using Opera V116.0. Edit 8:08 pm Central European Standard Time: I deleted most of my initial text in the reply in my topic, trying whether I could post it piece by piece. When I hit "Save" the part of the text I didn't delete and the pictures have been posted 8:05 pm). When I now try to edit the post to re-enter the text I get an error message saying "This comment can no longer be edited. It may have been moved or deleted, or too much time may have passed since it was posted for it to be edited." Edited February 10 by harti20
Dave Ambrose Posted February 13 Posted February 13 @David G. gets the prize. We have some software rules in place to prevent people from attacking our database, also known as a SQL injection attack. It turns out they're somewhat too promiscuous. The problem words are: insert select alter update I'll get to work solving this problem. In the meantime, if you want to use one of these programmatically naughty words, insert a space in them so they don't trip the errant rule(s).
harti20 Posted February 13 Posted February 13 @Dave Ambrose Thank you very much for your investigation and investing your time in hunting problems not everybody can reproduce. But somehow I get the impression that at least in my case this can't be the only reason for not accepting the post. I just double checked with another forum where I had posted the exact same text and neither of the problem words have been used there. The only word I used twice which has something to do with SQL syntax was "update". The thread in question was https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/193919-alpha-model-ferrari-sf90-stradale/

I'll upda uhhhh change the text in my replies to include it.
