Pierre Rivard Posted April 30 Posted April 30 Watched the teaser/trailer. Doesn't feel good. Feels like... hey let's do a remake of Driven... We have not been treated with too many really good racing movies. For now Grand Prix, Le Mans, Rush and Ford v Ferrari are the ones that make the cut with me. I doubt this new one will. 2
Big John Posted June 2 Posted June 2 (edited) I've come across what is probably the first F1 movie, "The Young Racers", Roger Corman, 1963. The movie action opens with fabulous shots of the 1962 Monaco race, shark nose Ferraris, Lotus, Coopers, BRMs... Great racing action on many of the old tracks! The story line isn't too bad considering what scripts are like today and maybe better that most. Must see for early F1 fans. Edited June 2 by Big John 1
Dave Van Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Enjoyed it. NOT a documentary....more exciting than real F1......LOOKS GREAT. Worth my time. Â
Tyreman Posted July 9 Posted July 9 I Can not stand F1 despite living in the UK....i have not seen the movie yet but know i will like it visually.
iamsuperdan Posted July 9 Posted July 9 We thought it was excellent. Not the most original story line, and not entirely accurate. But it was a fun movie, the visuals were excellent, it was exciting. It's everything you want in a summer blockbuster. Grab your popcorn and drink, and enjoy the 2 hours. Â Â 2
absmiami Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Bainford - you nailed it - if you fed the Days of Thunder script into your laptop AI and asked it to write the F1 script you would get what we got - leave it to Jerry Brockheimer to ruin an F1 movie - the analogies create themselves - Top Gun with wheels instead of wings - only thing missing is the beach volleyball game - wh will we ever get to watch action movies without actors that are almost as old as me - can we have another James Bond movie  starring Sean Connery?  Scoresese had the good sense not to sent Martin Sheen Dennis Hopper and Robert Duvall  back into the Jungle for Apocalypse Now II - There - i’ve said it … 1
absmiami Posted July 9 Posted July 9 And no - Tom Hanks would never agree to storm the beaches of Normandy again ….  Would he ?  1
absmiami Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Â dialogue was just as bad on an IMAX screen - now who wants to read my script for a biopic on Robert Kubiza ! 1
NOBLNG Posted July 9 Posted July 9 My wife and I enjoyed it as just an action film. We know nothing about F1 racing and realize that it is not based on a true story. I can see it maybe being disappointing if you are an F1 fan. We had to move twice due to eight young guys behind us talking. Then we moved close to some guy wearing a pint of cologne and the wife couldn’t breathe. Third spot was a charm.
bobss396 Posted July 10 Posted July 10 We just saw it. I was expecting some better racing footage. Brad Pitt played a good part. I'd watch it again when it comes on cable.

On an early talk show Mario Lopez said they were the fastest cars on the planet. I guess he forgot TopFuel and Funny Cars on Nitro. https://video.search.yahoo.com/search/video?fr=yfp-t-s&p=f1+movie+trailer#id=2&vid=0125689e6426564ea84b29e118c3da8b&action=view Indycar is faster.
oldcarfan Posted July 11 Posted July 11 I've heard good things about it, so I hope to see it soon. When they first mentioned it was being made, I was afraid Tom Cruise might be involved. Not a big fan of him, lol. We haven't been to the movies much since the lockdown, but there's several movies coming out that sound good. 1
