Dave Van Posted April 21 Author Posted April 21 Thanks John........a number of place have a LEFT caliper......but none have a RH?!?!?!? I'd rather rebuild both than have one new. We'll get there.....Thanks 1
Dave Van Posted April 28 Author Posted April 28 Waiting on parts so just checking and cleaning things.......Still very happy to have found her...... 2 1
stavanzer Posted April 28 Posted April 28 Looking better with every photo, Dave. You've put in a lot of work cleaning her up.
mk11 Posted April 28 Posted April 28 Are those the new 16" wheels? They look great! Looks like it paid a visit to bob's (or somebodies) backyard autobody...
Dave Van Posted May 12 Author Posted May 12 Waiting on some parts and for a weekend my son can come over to help. So I am doing things I can do......and that are free!!!! Pulled the Recao seats out, cleaned, removed tracks, painted and oiled. Had to make the connector for the seat sliders as it was missing. Been told the seats are worth almost what we paid for the car. Driver seat had one hogs ring missing so I fixed that. Otherwise about perfect. Not bad for a 1979 seat!!! Thanks 6 1
Musclecarbuilder Posted May 13 Posted May 13 Nice find man! Hold on to that baby, they're only going up in value (Especially since its a pace car). My Uncle has the GT version (It's an '82) that's been sitting under a car port in his backyard for 20 years. If I can get him to sell it one of these days maybe we could run 'em. 😁 1
Zen Posted May 15 Posted May 15 I guess for 6k miles they should still be in good shape, those look outstanding! 1
iamsuperdan Posted May 15 Posted May 15 I'm not a huge Mustang guy, but I really like the early Fox bodies. The wheel upgrade makes sense, and personally I'd upgrade the brakes too. I see that blue patch on the passenger door. Has this been repainted at all? Seems odd, considering the inside of the door is the factory silver. I think a major clean and detail would be the first thing on my list. I do that with all of our cars before I ever start working on them. 1

Thanks After having a '91 Jetta (that the Jack Russell Terror chewed into the passenger top), and now the Fakerri with Recaro seats, I'm a fan. The pattern is really nice! 1
Dave Van Posted June 2 Author Posted June 2 Gone as far as I can cleaning and interior........so I started on the engine. Removed spark plugs and feed engine with Marvel oil mixed woth some Lucas. It sat over night and I attempted to spin it after sitting since 1985. She spun VERY well w/o a gallop or noise. Put the plugs back in and cranked her with some ether. She started and ran for 5 seconds. Some gas in the carb and ran longer. But found fuel pump was not pumping so I am doing the VGG treatment to see if I can bring her back. Really happy how good everything is I am finding. Thanks for looking. 6

I may hsve found it's remains........Under the driver seat was bits of white paper....none big enough to say what it was. Everything else intact....I think that is what was left. Thanks
espo Posted June 3 Posted June 3 I hear some Ford guys talk about a "Marti Report". They are supposed to be able to get copies of the original window sticker and list of factory equipment from there. Might be a place to look depending on how important that information might be to you. 2

They are nice to have..I have one for my '69 and '87 Mustangs, along with/ my late brother's cars..I got them for his (incl. his '79 Mustang Indy Pace Car and '82 GT) before they were auctioned in 2022. 1
John M. Posted June 4 Posted June 4 Great score Dave. Please keep us updated on the progress if possible?
Rob Hall Posted June 4 Posted June 4 This was my brother’s IPC after pulled from the barn and cleaned up. I think it had about 75k miles. 302 w/ automatic. Missing the headliner but complete and unrestored. 3
Dave Van Posted June 4 Author Posted June 4 Nice!! I cut what was left of our headliner out. It had shrunken to where it was 2-3 inches shy on all sides.....how did it happen???

peteski Posted June 4 Posted June 4 Dave, in the photo the driver's side interior door panel looks like new. Did you replace it, or is it cleaned up original? 1
Dave Van Posted June 4 Author Posted June 4 Original door panels.....all of the interior is original. Headliner is all we will replace. Thanks 1
