Saw a post elsewhere mentioning that Steve will be at NNL with the the current releases, and will have news about some others not yet shared.

Look forward to seeing / hearing what's in the plan!

Newly announced!

Chevy S-10 Xtreme20250426_100636.jpg.d905916c977d38170c9ed63bbd16af0d.jpg

Great to see that the good folks from Round2 updated the grille, cuz IIRC the Ertl designed kit still had the old style, S-10, and not the "Blazer like" as on the box-art below

BTW these, the Blazer, Ranger and Explorers were pretty neat kits.

Long Nose Mustang is great - always wanted one innaday, but it was not a widely circulated kit.

S-Truck is interesting, but not really in my wheelhouse, save a turn as a frame donor for an early Chevy pickup ('49?)

Glad to see Round 2 pursuing their product plan - the longnose has been part of their plan for some time now.

Bob, my impression was that the LongNose was a very popular kit, at least based on what i saw at the MPC Contests back in the day.  I remember looking across the entry tables at 1000+ entries at the 1970 Detroit Autorama MPC Contest and seeing multiples and multiples of three kits = the Monogram BadMan, the AMT Manx Dune Buggy, and that LongNose Mustang.  Of course, my memories may not be 100% accurate these days!   TB

Another run of old boring drag cars. Well, at least the ancient builders will be happy but they will  bitch about the price and why it's not at ollies.. The Xtreme is an interesting choice, at least that might have a broader market since the mini trucks are starting to make a comeback at the car shows. , Happy Aoshima is pushing out modern cars for the rest of us.

Ah, memories... wait, what? (grins) I was very much a WW2 aircraft and ship fan at the time (some day I will post the motorized USS Enterprise ) so I missed that specific era of kits. I did win the best photo award in the Car Model Dune Buggy Contest, tho.  The longnose kit always looked cool, but if it wasn't at Joe's, Harb's or the local Kresge/K-Mart... chances were it didn't exist in  my world.  Of course there was the AW catalog, but alas, my dreams were always of the OOPs listed - when I hadn't loaned the catalog to Mother's Worry for dissection in the lunchroom at Adams Jr. High. Ah, for the day!

What is the Scorpion? The Box art I saw online shows what looks like an AMT Piranha chassis and the Astro One showcar body(maybe)?

I know Round2 has had the Piranha in production, recently, but the Astro One, is a new deal.

I'll be very interested to see what's in the box.

Memories indeed Robert...built the long nose Mustang when I wuz a kid, got it from that drug store on Cherry Hill east of Telegraph near Lindberg Elementary. Here's a pic of the one I built a few years ago, I always liked that kit. Looks like they put glass in it this time. Always thought it wuz odd that there wuz no windshield in the original  issues...

Alan, they cut up the Astro 1 body and mated it to the Piranha frame I'd like to see the Astro 1 come back

There was also a 1960 Chevy wagon that looked pretty cool. I didn't ask if it was new tooling.

I started the 1971 Demon as a club project. That looks like new tooling and pretty well thought out.

Mikey, this is magnificent. I don't recall Jason's Pharmacy ever having kits, but my memory is a brittle as the styrene. I recall that the variety store at Telegraph and Ford Rd. next to the 'dollar show' would have kits now and then. Got the blue box ish of the Deora there - and left "Mach Won" on the shelf. Don't recall where the K+L Cougar came from, tho. That never progressed very far.

Whenever I was in there, it was a beeline to the magazine rack for the latest Car Model, Hot Rod, or Auto World catalog. When we could ride bikes to/from school, I'd detour by there on my way home if I had a few cents to pick up some bubblegum.

There was also a Jack's Drugstore (building still stands, bricks and mortar unchanged) at Silvery Lane and Ford Road that had kits back in the toy corner.  I think we crossed the international dateline of Telegraph to ride over there on a few occasions.

If they brought the Scorpion back, then they should consider the return of the Astro I.

I wonder if the scorpion is a one time shot before they restore the tooling?
