I like and have owned a few El Caminos in the past, so I'll be getting a couple of those. The Chrysler 300 looks interesting so at least one will be put in the stash.

Looking at the bottom of the box parts layout on the '69 GTX, it kind of looks like a Pro Street frame to me with those tubs. Maybe I just don't know much about Mopar frames, but that's what it looks like to me. I do know there were a couple of Pro Street versions, one being a GTX and the other a Super Bee. Those of you with more knowledge than me can correct/explain.

I did a quick screen grab and it does look like the tubbed rear chassis from the PS kits. But there is also what appears to be a full width axle in the parts tree, so...?

Yea, something going on there for sure.

That's definitely a pic of the tubbed chassis but the leaf spring rear end.

The tubbed chassis uses a narrowed rear with coil-overs.

I wouldn't overthink it.  They likely used the parts layout from the previous pro street issue in error.  The kit will be the stock one this time around.

Looking at the graphic, it does look like the stock kit layout. Some of the Pro Street parts are always part of the kit, whether stock or Pro Street. The 440 engine tree with stock exhaust is shown, those pieces are never in the Pro Street boxings. It just looks like the Pro Street floor is shown in error.

Mark is correct. It's simply a graphic error that slipped through and we'll fix it for any re-orders.  We have confirmed that the stock chassis part is included in this issue of the '69 Plymouth GTX.

Thanks for the info everybody, just glad I'm not seeing things, LOL.

Thank you for the response, Steve. It seemed weird seeing the tubbed wells without the narrowed rear.

Phew, good to know! The Pro-Street chassis is good, having buit the Super Bee version back in the day, but having also built the 1968 stock RoadRunner, that stock B-Body chassis in one of the best in the business! By the way Steve, one of those two kits in the 90's (can't remember which one) came with the parts for the rare overhead cam Hemi; are those parts or molds still around?

The pro street '70 Coronet had the DOHC Hemi parts.  That kit's tubbed floorpan is different from the one used in the GTX and Roadrunner.

ii would have liked to have seen a 68 Roadrunner instead of a 69 GTX.  No disrespect to round2..

Aren't those still available where you live? Kit #AMT1363; here in Canada, a bunch of my online hobby shops still have some in stock. Surely your suppliers also have some left? And no, I didn't call you Shirley!!!! 🤣

I just checked and I'm out of '53 Ford P/U kits.
That's not acceptable. Every household should have at least one.

On a related note, Stevens International also has AMT’s 1957 Corvette Street Machine (The nicely detailed nineties’ “Mueller era” kit, not the ex. MPC Flipnose “Gasser”) listed as an upcoming reissue.

A nice selection of kits this month, but only the Elky interests me.  I'm sure all will find good homes.

Better Luck next month, I guess.
