oldcarfan Posted Thursday at 02:38 PM Posted Thursday at 02:38 PM My wife has been on me to purge my phone of some of the 2000+ unused screen shot pictures I've saved. While clearing some out it made me wonder if I'm the only one who does this. As for the subjects I actually went so far as to buy a Fast and Furious Gladiator to do the camper and I have a Tamiya Grand Cherokee waiting to someday be made into this offroader. I really love the Mayflower van because it looks like one of the transporters Ferrari used to use in the 50s. If you're in the mood, play along and post up some inspiration pictures you've saved.

Fat Brian Posted Thursday at 03:07 PM Posted Thursday at 03:07 PM Yes, I keep many pics. Some are for inspiration and others are reference pics of parts or assemblies I need to find or build. 1
thatz4u Posted Thursday at 03:39 PM Posted Thursday at 03:39 PM Always keep pix for research, reference, & rechecking build progress 1
johnyrotten Posted Thursday at 04:55 PM Posted Thursday at 04:55 PM (edited) I have 2-3 different cars photos saved, and around 60 photos printed in a folder for reference on something I want to build very accurately. There's one car from my youth i can still get in person pics of, that one's on the list as well.So yes, I save references for future builds Edited Thursday at 05:31 PM by johnyrotten 1

I like the Fugazzi F40 1
RancheroSteve Posted Thursday at 09:38 PM Posted Thursday at 09:38 PM I realize a lot of people do everything on a phone these days, but for me it's folders within folders on a computer, all organized by type of vehicle in a logic that makes sense to me, at least. I got in the habit in the early digital photo days of labeling every photo, which makes searching much easier. When I'm ready to start a build, I'll pull a folder out and park it on the desktop, maybe search for additional reference or inspiration. Just as in the physical world, if you can't find something, you may as well not have it. 3
iamsuperdan Posted Thursday at 09:40 PM Posted Thursday at 09:40 PM For just about every kit I have, I've saved some pics for inspiration. Sometimes it's of an actual vehicle so I can get the colours and details right. Sometimes it's because I like the colour combo, or it has the right wheels, or it's just got a cool look. Here's a few. 1
charger74 Posted Friday at 02:33 AM Posted Friday at 02:33 AM I also have lots of screen shots on my phone. I also have an image galery called future projects where I store my pictures on postimage
Ace-Garageguy Posted Friday at 02:48 AM Posted Friday at 02:48 AM I have thousands on my desktop for reference or inspiration, and sometimes I'll just let them shuffle while I listen to music. Much better entertainment than a lot of what's out there. 1
NOBLNG Posted Friday at 01:55 PM Posted Friday at 01:55 PM Absolutely. I save inspirational photos that I come across. Pinterest is a great source. Some custom stuff is even A.I. generated, but looks really cool. If the source won’t let me save the photos directly I will take a screen shot, then use “edit” to crop out all the unwanted parts. 1
espo Posted Friday at 05:13 PM Posted Friday at 05:13 PM Having been a long-time subscriber to several automotive based magazines, I have often saved the pictures and stories on the ones I liked. I have 6 good sized ring binders full of inspirations for future ideas for builds. Sadly, almost all of such publications are no longer being issued. 1
