gasman Posted Wednesday at 07:34 PM Posted Wednesday at 07:34 PM Killer box art on the one, they knocked it put of the park 7 1
Can-Con Posted Wednesday at 08:11 PM Posted Wednesday at 08:11 PM Cool. Looks like it's the "California Sunshine" pickup with a stock grille. I'm definitely in for at least one of these. 😁
Matt T. Posted Wednesday at 10:39 PM Posted Wednesday at 10:39 PM Well there's one I didn't know I needed. 😆 Very cool box art. 2
stavanzer Posted Wednesday at 10:45 PM Posted Wednesday at 10:45 PM Wow, the box art alone will sell this kit! What a Home Run.
Stef Posted yesterday at 12:47 AM Posted yesterday at 12:47 AM Awesome! Looks like nearly all of the pieces and options for this kit have survived the test of time. All we really need now are the stepside bed and topper from EXPRESS-O to complete the series. Me personally, really hoping Round 2 brings back RISING SUN next!
Fat Brian Posted yesterday at 03:55 AM Posted yesterday at 03:55 AM I just bought a sealed California Sunshine kit a couple months ago, I'm very glad I didn't over pay now.
Twokidsnosleep Posted yesterday at 04:38 AM Posted yesterday at 04:38 AM Is that a real kit??BRE version would be super cool I have the MPC ‘75 Datsun pick up kit to make the stock blue girl I learned to drive and shift standard on

Mark Posted yesterday at 12:33 PM Posted yesterday at 12:33 PM The fender pieces are all separate. MPC got a lot of different versions out of the basic truck, but tooled two cabs (stock, and flip front), two interior buckets, two pickup beds, and two engines. Great kit, especially for its time, but the box art on the '75 annual (first one issued) really doesn't let on how detailed it is. I bought one about a year after it came out, and was blown away by it. 1

martinfan5 Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago (edited) That box art is really making want to get it, good job Round 2 Edited 18 hours ago by martinfan5
Luc Janssens Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago What I find odd on this original mpc kit, is that the headlamps are separate chrome inserts that one mounts into the grille. Of course it's easy to replace those with chrome lenses if one wishes to do so. It's just odd.

I'd say the only reason we got separate headlights at all is because the grille isn't plated. 1 1

And in the case of the BRE version, it lends itself well to blocked off headlights for the race truck! 👍🏻 2
meechum68 Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Oh look.. 2-3 of these I didn't know I needed, this is a wicked looking Datsun! That box art is what has me at 2-3 for sure. I'm doomed, and my wallet is bawling!
