johnyrotten Posted Thursday at 11:09 PM Posted Thursday at 11:09 PM Finished this up tonight. This is the old Monogram Heavy Chevy build as a clean daily hot rod. Lowered, swapped the intake and carb, new wheel/tire combo and detailed up the interior with added seat trim and belts. I also added lenses to the lights in the front bumper. Createx pearl black paint and clear coat. This was a fun build of the first kit I ever built, went together with no big issues or problems other than the kit having a slight warp, no big deal. Thanks for checking this one out, feel free to comment. 👍👍 18
Chuckyg1 Posted Thursday at 11:37 PM Posted Thursday at 11:37 PM I'm liking this a lot. Beautiful paint and interior. Nice clean build 1
STU111 Posted Friday at 01:35 AM Posted Friday at 01:35 AM Clean and not over the top, it really hits the spot. Lot of great details incorporated into that interior. Top stuff. 👍🏻 1
DJMar Posted Friday at 02:39 AM Posted Friday at 02:39 AM Great color combo! That's a nice, simple build and looks killer. It's crazy to me that this kit first saw light of day 45 years ago. 1
NOBLNG Posted Friday at 12:54 PM Posted Friday at 12:54 PM I’d call that a muscle car not a hot rod.🤓 That said…great work all around!👍 The interior detailing looks particularly nice. 1

I put a real effort into the paint, and that interior. The level of detail I see elsewhere on the forum is a big inspiration for me, I see amazing work everywhere. I didn't want to clutter up things under the hood and chassis, I still feel it's a bit bare here and there. Trying to find that sweet spot between too much and not enough, without the resulting madness. Pretty proud of this one, considering it's my 3rd full build in thirty years and worlds nicer than anything I built as a kid.👍👍 Edited Friday at 01:40 PM by johnyrotten Thirty is spelled with two "t's". 2
espo Posted Friday at 05:26 PM Posted Friday at 05:26 PM Beautiful looking day 2 style. The contrasting interior goes well with the body color. Rally wheels always look right. 1
larman Posted yesterday at 12:11 AM Posted yesterday at 12:11 AM Nice work! I like the careful painting, engine, stance and overall attention to detail! 1

70 Sting Posted yesterday at 03:29 AM Posted yesterday at 03:29 AM Wow! The front and rear are perfection. Sweet interior, too. 1

That front end gave me a fit, I had to strip it and start over 3 times. I couldn't do anything for the emblem on the trunk, next build I'm using foil under paint for anything like that, but I'm being critical of myself. Thanks for checking this out 👍👍 1
Falcon Ranchero Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Finally done, looks great 👍. Like the red interior. 1
Old Buckaroo Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Very nice heavy Chevy! Are those .22 cal shell casings for the exhaust tips?

No, they are ferrules for electrical connections. The flared end worked almost perfectly for the stock exhaust. Guys use them for injection stacks as well.
karbuildr Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Very nice work, beautifully done engine compartment. 1
