Zoom Zoom Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Oh boy...if Moebius were to do either early or late '40's Packards Could be the swoopy '47 or the pregnant elephant '48. Yeah, I'd be very much in line with my cash

Guest Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 I know I'm the OFF one here., But IF i buy that ugly lookin thing it'll ONLY BE ONE! THAT is a HIDIOUS lookin thing. I don't care about it's historical sugnifacance, it's just plain UGLY! My freind in grade school,Trygve Hansin,'s Dad had one . It was a JUNK ! we painted it blue with HOUSE PAINT!!! Why Moebius would even THINK to pop that car is WAYYYYY beyond me. It'll ONLY interest older guys like us, who REMEMBER these hideous cars. I my self, am waiting for the 55 Chrysler. Now THAT'S a pretty car, and I have fond memories of them. It's a wonder to me, WHERE was a poll taken to mold this thing??? I never saw or heard of one, so HOW did they come to the conclusion to mold it? PERSONALLY think that even if EVERYBODY here bought a CASE of them ,they won't sell well. Too many KIDS don't even know what a Packard is. Just my opinion. I'm with you 100% George! You would have to run me down and make me take one. I guess I'm one of the few or many that don't "get it".

spkgibson Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 I look at it this way,Atleast its not another stupid looking 57 Chevy, Or 69 Camaro, CAMERO. ,How many kits of those did they have out? 50 Combined? Goofy comments like the ones that were made are the reasons some of the MOST wanted cars never made by anyone aren't being made, Where is the 70 Chrysler 300 H and regular versions of them, Or ANY of the fullsize Chrysler products from 1969-76? The Blues Brothers 74 Monaco should be a no brainer, I'd buy a case of those. There is so many subjects out there that could ,and should be made , But all we get are 57 Chevys , 69 Camaro's and everything that has an SS on it, How about a 71 Pontiac T-37 Lemans? Or a 73 and 74 GTO ? Theres a real car. I hope I didn't offend anyone, If I did, I'm just voicing my oppinion thats all. I'll be getting 2 of these Hudson's when they come out.
Zoom Zoom Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 And I'd be right in line behind you Bob! I'd cut in front if they added a '55 Clipper to that list... You wouldn't have to cut, I'd gladly let you take the spot. Now if it were a Caribbean...all bets are off
Chuck Most Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 55 Caribbean? Both of you would have to fight me to get to it first!! Okay guys- grab your lightsabers- I'm sensing a fight to the death!!!! Oh, Glenn? I'd love an Astro kit, too- I just don't really condider the 'Astrofari' a 'mini' van. More of a 'middie' van.
charlie8575 Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 While Mark, Bob and Chuck slug it out, I'll simply sit back and place a phone order before any of you with my shop of choice (Spare Time Shop, Marlborough, Ma.,) and then watch the fight! Say....think we could sell tickets with proceeds to benefit the Model Car Builder's Museum? Charlie Larkin P.S.: Clipper and a Caribbean? I'll take a bunch of each, please!
Chuck Most Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 The Epic Moore, Downie, and Most Lightsaber Slugfest 2011! Who will fall down the shaft? Who will lose a hand? And who will be who's father...
spkgibson Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 There are still two 57 Chevies I'd love to see in scale. A convertible, (never been kitted), & an accurate & buildable Nomad. The Monogram, (since reissued by Revell), 124 scale Nomad has serious proportioning issues & the old Revell 1/25 scale kit is virtually impossible to build a decent model out of. 69 Camaro? If Revell were to offer a genuine factory COPO or a Dickie Harrell variant to their already great lineup, (& get rid of the damned chambered exhaust in the kit!!!), I'd be all over those!! But then, I'm someone that loves the different dealer & manufacturer variants of muscle cars that were produced. 73 & 74 GTO's hold very little interest for me personally, though I have nothing against them being kitted, but when stacked up to a 69 Camaro SS, Z-28, etc. as muscle cars, those GTO's do pale in comparison. They were, (& are). but pale shadows of the real muscle cars earlier GTOs & yes, Camaros were. The T-37 is probably too obscure a "low budget stripe/decal variation" of the LeMans to warrant tooling up, unless the tooling could also provide a 71 GTO. I'd love a Chrysler 300H myself, but a 74 Monaco? Maybe one, & only if it included the accessories & parts needed to build an authentic replica of the Bluesmobile. I might get more if it were offered, but it's not very high in my list. All that having been said, I think the only one you mentioned that wouldn't warrant looking into would be the T-37. Like the Heavy Chevy & Rallye Olds, I have a feeling it just might be too unknown & obscure to be workable for the manufacturers. Do we really need anymore 57 Chevys and 69 Camaros? Come on guys. A C.O.P.O 69 ? If anything that should be brought out as a newly tooled kit is the 69 Chevelle. The AMT kits have so many flaws in it I'm suprised it even sold, I'm guilty of owning every version of those kits , The only version I don't have is the 69 Annual. With the ALMOST correct rear bumper and taillights. Ok lets start up a pole here to see how many people on here want the 74 Monaco. With both stock and blues brothers options.

Steve, IF there was a kit of the '74 Monaco, I would buy one... but there isn't. Do I want them to invest $$$ in a new tool for it? No!!! Because- it would be a sales dud. And that would take away $$$ for tooling for new, viable kits. Sorry man. Same way I am not holding my breath for a '64 Corvair Greenbriar Van... not gonna happen.

You don't know how to cut a roof off? and use the boot from the 55 convertable.
Chuck Most Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 OH, forget all the '57 Chevys, Novas, and Chevelles. Take all those kits, scrap the tooling, and use the money from the scrap drive to tool me up a '69 Mercury Marauder X-100! Or a '70 Plymouth Fury... Or a '67 Pontiac Grand Prix... Or any other kit I'd love to have (and would buy caseloads of) but I'd be the only person buying!
Joe Handley Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 I'd buy a few of those Furies too, especially if they were 2in1 style kits

Art Anderson Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 What? No interest in a '55 Kaiser Dragon? Not even a ''50 Frazer Manhattan? What's this World coming to, anyway? Art
Rob Hall Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 I'll take a 67 Grand Prix, (two actually, both the hardtop & the one year only convertible), and a 57 Chevy convertible TYVM!!!!! If the Modelhaus vendor at the swapmeet next month happens to have either of the 67 Grand Prix kits offered, one or both may come home with me!! The Modelhaus '67 GPs are really nice...have both of them in my to-build stash, along w/ their '66 ht.
Chuck Most Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 What? No interest in a '55 Kaiser Dragon? Not even a ''50 Frazer Manhattan? What's this World coming to, anyway? Art Well, Art and I wouldn't mind a Kaiser or a Frazer in kit form, and since I must've seriously misjudged demand for the Marauder, Fury, and GP, maybe we're not the only ones!

Casey Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Steve is right, a new '68-'72 Chevy Chevelle/Malibu in 1/25 scale based on the current Revell '72 Olds Cutlass tooling would be a great idea, and quite honestly, Revell could pump out twenty years worth of "new" kits based solely on this shared tooling: (add your favorite up- and down-market options as packages as you see fit) '68-'72 Chevelle/Malibu '70-'72 Olds Cutlass (the ex MPC '69 tooling isn't horrible, so I'm leaving the '68-9s out for now) '70-'72 Pontiac LeMans/GTO (see above for '68-'69 GTOs- yes, the Monogram interior is incorrect for a '68...) '68-'69 Buick Skylark- I think the Monogram '70 GSX still holds up fairly well, but it's 1/24 scale, so...) '70-'72 Buick Skylark GS/GSX I have to wonder if, in twenty years, someone will be complaining about another Revell GM A-body kit coming out. If so, I think it's be a good problem to have.
sjordan2 Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Too old and obscure. Well, so am I and I'd be interested.
