Dave B Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 Have always preferred this to the 'E' Type & when I saw a racing version at the local shop I couldn't resist. Did some homework & found they only built 2 in gold so thought I would build mine as a 'hot' road version, in gold. Just wish I had kept the old 1/24 convertible(James Bond)version I built years ago, think it may have been Airfix, I could now do it justice!!! Tks for looking Dave B
LAone Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 great looking 2000 gt. i like the paint as well. im looking to get a few of thes kits. one for stock, one for race and the other....well non-traditional
simonr Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 Nothing like the 60's cars lines! Simón P. Rivera Torres
sjordan2 Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 (edited) Great job. Nice paint, which has just the right amount of shininess for that car – not overdone. Edited January 27, 2011 by sjordan2
Harry P. Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 I have to disagree with you big time on preferring this over the E-type.... but the model itself? Fantastic!
Zoom Zoom Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 Very nice, great choice of color. I have to admit, as a coupe, I prefer this over the E Type as well...it's the roofline that makes the difference. But the E-Type roadster I definitely like better than the convertible version of this car.
cruz Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Very cool build, color looks great on it. Looks a lot like the old Datsun.... Hosted on Fotki
Chris C Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Really good job on the gold, it's a horrible colour to paint! Certainly is a looker...
Jantrix Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 I always thought these were the prettiest sports cars. Great job on it.
stevehansen Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Nice Job. Always liked the 2000 GT, did not know about the gold. Definitly not a Camry!! Oh what a Feeling Toyota
Chuck Most Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 I've always liked this car, and I'd love to have the kit. There's just something about the car I like- drink in its lines and you'll get a slight Jag E-Type and early Z-car aftertaste. (See what I did there? ANYBODY can critique automotive styling! ) Great build, I can only hope mine will turn out that nice.
Dave B Posted January 30, 2011 Author Posted January 30, 2011 Tks for the kind words folks, I appreciate it. PS, I do like the 'E', just don't have a good model of it!!
Erik Smith Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Nice! I like the paint choice and it's well executed. One of these (1:1) came up for sale a few months ago for something like $350,000 - they are beautiful cars and yours does it justice.
unclescott58 Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 (edited) Love the Toyota 2000GT. Anyone know much about this model? Scott Edited January 9, 2015 by unclescott58
Brudda Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 This car is so far better than the e type in every way. and it starts
sigmaman Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 I do like E-Types. But I have to agree I do like the lines of these over them. Nice build.
djflyer Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 Great build, great looking car - liked then ever since I saw one in a James Bond movie. I wonder if the Hasegawa is a re-issue of the Nichimo kit - is that a curbside?
Zarana-X Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 (edited) Looks great! These are spectacular cars, and you can't go wrong with a Hasegawa kit. BTW, the convertible/James Bond kit was MPC, and from what I've read is a fairly horrible kit...Only issued once I believe. Just noticed this post was necroed from 2011! D'oh!
