Steve Keck Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 Randy, your work is amazing. Think about wicking used to suck up excess solder for those seat belts. I'm signing off to wipe the drool off my key board now.
FASTBACK340 Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 OK Randy, it's time for a gentle nudge....... Any progress? A lot of people are waiting I bet.
Dr. Cranky Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Oh man, the techniques, the time in, the labor of love . . . this build is just an amazing record of a masterpiece getting built. THANK YOU, and please keep it going.
FASTBACK340 Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 (edited) I realize art can't be rushed and Randy will work at HIS pace. I'm just giving him a subtle nudge... We can all start yelling later. Edited September 10, 2011 by FASTBACK340
gasser59 Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Outfrigginstanding!! I need more......plz......
Chuck Most Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 That's it. I'm done. Time to find a new hobby. I hear basketweaving is pretty fun...
FASTBACK340 Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 I've been playing Bass for over 40 yrs. and when I see someone more talented than me play, I watch & learn. You can almost always take something home and apply it to your skill level. This is what a good teacher will achieve. Give you the tools. There are several people on this forum whom posses not only the skills, but the patience to properly document and share their talent. I find the epic builds, such as Randy's, to be inspiring. Who knows, maybe in a future project I'll scratch-build a set of pedals for the interior. If that works out, I'll try something else more involved and, hopefully, progress. Give up building? Nah... Just get better by learning. Bill Geary is a personal friend and I've had the pleasure to watch many of his fantastic builds go together in person. Amazing what you can see, and learn. I thank all you guys with the skills for sharing. Now where's our update Randy?
Pete J. Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 What I think I like most about this build(other than the shear perfection of the metal work) is the contrast between the natural metals. Looks very turn of the century. I hope Randy doen't decide to cover it all up with paint or something else. It is just killer in natural metal!
Paul Payne Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Augie Hiscano and Gerald Wingrove would be proud! You ought to show this gem without paint for a few years, just so people can appreciate the fabulous workmanship. Thank you so much for sharing in so much detail.
MikeMc Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 That's it. I'm done. Time to find a new hobby. I hear basketweaving is pretty fun... I'm going to Stamps....
Maverick351 Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 I am totally impressed with your skills, I will definatly be keeping an eye on this project.
bandit1 Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 THAT'S IT! I'M QUITING! now find something else as a hobby!

stulee11 Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 with all that truely time consuming detailing its kinda a shame to have to paint it ...... but i gotta say bruv you rock thats mental well done
Jairus Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 Hey Randy, don't get bogged down in the details man. Beautiful freaking work so far but maybe tossing on some paint might help. Just saying...
FASTBACK340 Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 HEY! Send me directions to your house so I can come over and help motivate you! Geeeez.... got us hanging and twitching..... not nice.
Gluhead Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Not subject matter that typically grabs me by the shorthairs, but this is fantastic. I hope that one day my accumulative efforts allow me to reach this point of obsessive-compulsiveness and craftsmanship. Truly inspiring work, Randy. Thank you for sharing it with us and I can't wait to see it continue.
Greg Pugh Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 He hasn't been on the board since the beginning of November. I hope all is well.
