G'Day guys! You may have seen this one acting as the guinea pig for my flame video. It's Model Kings 59 Chrysler Imperial. A very simple kit as far as parts count goes, must've only used about 12 bits! Just the way I like it. The body has had a bunch of chrome, handles and badges removed and a bit of sink mark filling. Paint is Tamiya Spray lacquers run through the airbrush. Body is white, flames are a mix of a few shades of metallic blues, followed up with Tamiya pearl clear then a bucket of 2K clear. The roof panel fades from dark blue at the pillars to light blue in the centre (a bit subtle for the camera) Wheels are pegasus, brakes are from a dead rally car the pinstripes & numberplates I made myself, "suspension" was by Dremel. Anyway, enjoy & thanks for looking!

I love the old 'D' bodies. The late 50s-mid 60s Imperials are a nice, well built road tank, and your build makes it a viable street rodded/pro-touring candidate!

Very Nice!! Great looking paint job and flames. Is the Video posted in the how to section?? I would like to know see and know what you use to mask them. I have a project coming up that I want to flame and was thinking of using bare metal foil. Actually trying to copy a car out of a magazine.

Thanks, guys! Had a good time on this one. No alclad used here, all out of the box chrome with some black washes. Mooneyzs, the video is in the how to section, I think a page or so in.

Mr Flame is back! I love it Chris, the shape of this car is very cool, you have now made me want one.

The only thing you need to work out now is pinstriping your flames B)

Usually not my thing, but the paint work is outstanding, and the color combination looks great.

Try taking a couple of pictures of it outside; it might help the camera pick up the color shift better.
