Since fall 2008.

a 1988 BMW e30 3 series..bought with just 100000 miles (160.000 km) on the clock..full service history and more important hardly any rust..

originaly a very slow and thirsty 320i with automatic gearbox , at the lights a 318i four banger could eat it for breakfast

drove this more or less stock for a year..(a long year),

then bought a wrecked 525i e34 5 series m50b25 for it's engine ,5 speedbox, ecu and engineloom, rear diff ,brakes etc

also fabricated my own exhaustsystem out of e36 an e30 M3 parts..

took the car of the road ,and transformed it into an Alpina B6 replica ,meaning; wheels ,bodykit.'livery',and a grey cloth Recaro sportsinterior ,Bilstein sportsuspension , all of it being original BMW/Alpina parts

it was also completely repainted in 181 Diamantschwarz..

fitted the engine with mostly BMW parts..(was almost like Lego).

and now its a 25 year old car which revs all the way to 7000 rpm if needed..but your grandma could still drive it in citytraffic also

topspeed is about 240 km/h and 0-100 (62 mph) gets disposed of well under 8 seconds

i like going trough tunnels at about 100-110 km/h and downshifting in to 3rd gear with te windows down...the exhaustnote is very e46 M3 CSL like...people don't have a clue ...

needless to say..it's not for sale..

o yeah..the trailerhitch is gone nowadays.

91 Dodge Dynasty.

Want to trade it in for something new. Transmission acting up Again!

Anyone know where I can get a Good 58 or 59 EDSEL!!!!!!!

The tranny went out of my dad's 90, but it will be scrapped shortly because there isn't much left of it anyway.

My 1:1 is a 1978 Thunderbird. It is currently my restoration project.IMG_1762_zps29918d39.jpgIMG_1775_zps22aae521.jpg

Did I mention it was last driven in 1994?IMG_1766_zps5f3ef578.jpgIMG_1757_zps26df439d.jpg

O-man....

Correct, it's not a GT. I'm 47 and suffer from a heavy right foot so with a son who turns 16 in a week, it's best not to put such a vehicle in either of our hands.

My uncle has a '08 GT, He puts a set of tires on it with every oil change (it's fun though, only 4 door fullsize sedan I've ever been in that'll powerslide a corner like it's a sunday cruise)

@JasonC..

i do know of some US forums refering to the e30 ,but your cars (not just e30's in particular)are so much different then ours over here..

enginewise your cars carry more smog equipment and catalyc converters and such and also the enginecodes differ a lot..and then i'm not even discussing the safetyfeatures on yours as in airbags, safetybelt warningstuff, huge bumpers with impact collission resistance

you also never had the 316i (102hp,M40code),but did have a 325IS..which is basicly a 'detuned'325i..

i won't even start about M3's...most you got had Airconditioning..(on a DTM kindacar.go figure)

i get most my socalled knowledge from Germany like www.e30.de..

and from mistakes made in the past...and believe me they are numerous

if i'm curious about Hemi's or a 350 small block ,i sneek across the big drink with you people

sorry for OT (Harry)..Dutch love smalltalk

Yeah it's a US based e30 forum, I'm the Admin on it. Eventhough it's mostly US based e30's, We do have a wide base of members all over the world on it too. So it's not just US e30's thats posted up on there. And yes we kind of did get the shaft on the side of good stuff for these cars. But from what i hear we are blessed not to have the M40 over here. But if you ever feel like taking a peek to see what we are doing over here on the other side of the pond. You're more then welcome to look!

And here's my old e30 that i had, 1987 325eS. Note it did have our pokey m20b27. But has no catalytic converters, no airbag, no safetybelt warning, nor big bumpers with impact strips ;)

4 years ago. After a few Alfas, Porsche 944 and C4 Corvette, this was the last car I owned that I liked. Driving a 4-dr G35 now. (This is what it's like to be hit by an Avalanche)

Bummer about the G35, Skip. That's an interesting list of cars ... we must have the same feeling behind the wheel. I had 5 924/944's then G35 and G37 coupes. I always look first at how the car feels before buying anything.

always been a sportsbike rider ... had several very fast bikes but stopped with those because io need my license for work and its hard to control myself..
im not dangerous on a bike and i have common sense but when the road is suitable i always opened the throttle :)

my current daily driver is a result of increased taxes , expansive mortgage and ffueal prices ... so i went small and wanted something fuell efficient but still kind of fast and not something you see on the road every day ...
so i went suzuki and bought a ignis sport .. just a road legal go kart .. corners like .... and the performance isnt bad ..in fact most big cars cant keep up

it was developed by suzuki sport as homologation for the suzuki ignis junior world rally car , all kinds of inginious techniques and a lot of bang for your buck .. weighs almost nothing

i also have a fun project just to tinker with a oldtimer honda cm 250 i could buy for almost nothing and totally original and running perfect

bought it like this , no road tax its a official oldtimer , adn very low budget with old parts from several honda bikes started to change it

dsc05008h.jpg

took a oldskool honda dirtbike front wheel (much bigger) and redid the drumbrake and painted it

1008550.jpg

dropped the rear to the ground with hagon shocks , thought of hardtailing it but i just wanted to make it in a simple grocery getter
its just as hard now as a hardtail these shocks are almost solid lol

1008775r.jpg

1008779s.jpg

1008777.jpg

then went for more black , lowered front legs , rubber sleeves , painted teh headlight black

that handlebars are not .. just for a test on hight

1009497f.jpg

1009498.jpg

low stance and a very small bike , i'm riding that with a hoody / sneakers and a metal flake helmet

1009503g.jpg

1009507c.jpg

rear wheel painted black

1009523.jpg

so well this summer i need to continue it , needs a new fatter front tyre , going to black it out but do the tins in metal flake
some flake grips and footpegs ..

al in all so far this whole bike cost me 500€ thats purchase , parts and all thats roughly just under 650 us dollar but that gave me a lot of fun

yeah that's nice..you got the colour right didn't you..

it looks a little Eurospec..but then again ...no..those wheels wouldn't catch on over here

guess it's a little 'been there ,done that' but imagine a set of BBS RM-RS on it..

i know of the m20b27 engine ,it was called the ETA engine over here 2,7 litres in capacity with 125 hp

but buckets of torque..some guys over here build them theirselves out of a b25 shortblock and diesel cranck..(correct me if i'm wrong)giving 175+hp in the end

original it was issued in the e30 325E or the e28 525E (E meaning Economic)

another popular conversion is the m30b35 engine out of a early e34/late e28 535i..but its noseheavy in an e30 ...yet unleashes horrific torque..also very thirsty ..

regarding the 4 cylinders..,well i drove all of them (sometimes back to back)..and they are not sluggish

a 318i m40 can keep up with a m20b20 if pushed..while feeling like a much lighter car at the same time

we also had the rare 318IS..m42b18..135-140 hp..which people like to call the 'baby M3'..and in a way it is..it screams about just as hard..response is great ,sometimes with 200000+km's on the clock even

if i was not to have my current e30 i would gladly like to own one..but real ones are rare ,being only produced in '89-'90..

but for now..i'll just keep mine..and do with it what comes natural..driving it ,and enjoying it (i always take the long way home)

and if asked to..scare the pants of younger and more expensive cars..maybe even drop a M52b28 in someday..now that would be fun...

My daily driver, 71 Sport Suburban, Lots of mods on this one as it is my first car that I learned to drive in it. Was my mom's before I got it. It looks like a 70 Sport Suburban on purpouse. I also have another 70 Sport Suburban for parts.

oldwagon0045.jpg

I drive it daily because My wife and I are building her car. When it is done I will redo the wagon and it will finally get painted.

This is her 71 Chevelle before we took it apart. This is back in 2002.

CHEVELLE14.jpg

This is her car recently.

BODY0299.jpg

And here is our other car. I bought this new in 1999. It is an S10 Xtreme with a few mods and a V6. We love this truck and it has served us well. She drives it daily and we use it on the weekends. It now has 186k on it.

XTREME18.jpg

Wow my fathers 71 is the same shade or really dang close i will have to post pics of our rides here at work now reading this LOL. that 'velle will look sweet done and i have dug that wagon when i see it in your avatar.

Fun car, 96 Pontiac Firehawk LT1 383 stroker 6spd

martins_mt,_firehawk_pic.jpg

Very nice!! That is just like the `94 `hawk I had, except for the wheels (mine still had the stock ROH). What number is yours? Mine was 312, hence my user name. :)

Posted

Here are a few pictures of my Firehawk. It is number 350 (I think), and one of 39 made in white. It is the 5th Firehawk I owned. LS6 cam, head work, full exhaust w/cats (still sounds stock!!) and should do high 11`s in the quarter. That is, with a decent driver (not me).

SIDE2.jpg

backside.jpg

white01hawk1.jpg

And here is a project I am working on. It will have the digital dash, carmine and graphite interior, and an LS1/T56 combo, which should be a little over 500hp:

Aaaaaaannnnnddd...I hope she doesn`t mind me posting this, but here is my wife`s car. It is one of 89 in Bright Purple Metallic. Only mod is an LS6 cam. We drove 7 hours to get this one:
