Jdurg Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 It will take it some time to get here, but I had a good night playing cards this week and therefore had the money to pick up the Micro-Mark Photo-Etch system. I'll use that to create the Corvette Emblems on my 1/16 scale '88 Vette that I'm building, as well as other detail parts that just aren't included in the kit. Can't wait for it to arrive and to give it a shot.
Rob Hall Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Waiting on a couple old annuals from eBay. AMT '66 Lincoln and Jo-han '67 Eldorado.
martinfan5 Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 I am waiting on the Aston Martin DBS kit, should be here on the 22nd, and my $47 to be direct deposited from the IRS
Danny Lectro Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Dave I found the HKS version for sale at Hobby Search. Here's the link: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10010407 Personally, I have never tried ordering from one of the Japanese online stores. Do I need more courage or faith in the system? I've ordered from Hobbysearch a few times, with no real issues.
Foxer Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 My old cheap compressor has given me lots of use for what I paid .. but I can't adjust the pressure anymore. So this was a good excuse to get a good one this time to match my Stylus.
Bill Eh? Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Danny, thanks for the feedback on Hobbysearch. I'll have to give them a try. Mike, the Iwata compressor looks nice. After you've used it for a while, could you let us know what you think of it?
The70judgeman Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 It started on Monday when my wife and I went to Michael's. I had a 40% off coupon. Bought a '49 Merc and a '79 Camaro Z28 on clearance. Got another 40% off coupon on my receipt. Went back again today to use it before it expired on Saturday. I picked out a 1950 Chevy 3100 P/U and another Z28. Got to the checkout and the girl couldn't get the coupon to scan. After she and another cashier couldn't get it to work, they noticed it was only good for the 22nd-24th. I got the discount anyway and the coupon back. More kits? Also picked up a preasure regulater and a oil/water separater for my cheapy compresser. Oh yeah...and a fine mesh tea steeper for flocking.

XJ6 Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Looks like the car is sitting on the rear tire also...maybe a correction is in order...just sayin
Fabrux Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 My very, very generous friend decided to give me what's left of his stash... The stuff along the wall and in the upper left corner were already there... The LRW and Banshee are started and the '53 F-100 box is actually a started El Camino SS. In the big tote, the Bel-Air and the Pontiac are built and complete; the red GMC pickup is missing a rear fender and the Countach is a diecast. There are tons of tires, rims, and engines as well as lots of other fiddly bits in there. Going to take a while to sort. I also have yet to sort through the paints...
Modlbldr Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Chris- Nice haul. I see a few I'd like to get ahlod of there. The Black 65 Vette, 70 GTX, the silver car w/red interior in the front of the first pic, and the 56 Nomad, red 70's Chevy pickup w/black hood and the silver 72 Chevy stepside. Oh, and is that a white Dodge pickup in the first pic???? Later-
MyBradKeselowski Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Chris, you hit it lucky now that's what I call a good friend...
David G. Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 needs work missing a tailight and front bumper is cracked What's with the gankstah wheels? Did it come like that, or are they "aftermarket"? Either way, nice acquisition. What are your plans for it? David G.
Scuderia Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 This one just arrived on the stoop today. Gonna use it for a project soon, box stock. Just need a diff. set of 5-stars for it.
The Creative Explorer Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 This are my last treasures I found here and there:
crazyjim Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Big score, Erik. Cool. Is that a mini drill press for a Dremel?
Junkman Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 (edited) Got me a 1:16 scale plastic T2 in Swiss Post livery made by Dickie. Edited March 25, 2012 by Junkman
Junkman Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 With an MPC Corvette body to show you the size: All doors and lids open. Even the sliding side door is functional. The underpinnings are nothing to write home about: Apart from the primitive chassis and toyish wheels, it's a very nicely done and plausible base with enormous potential.
XJ6 Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 picked this up while on vacation I like the way you spend your Vacation...Buying Model Kits...Yes....
Darren B Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 (edited) This are my last treasures I found here and there: wonderful haul and a pocher to? have always wanted to be lucky enough to get a pocher kit!!! Edited March 25, 2012 by Darren B
