Casey Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Just got my Golf GTi kit Revell and Revell AG quality control is horrible, I am the third person that got the Golf GTI kit with the Convertible parts trees instead of the hard top trees. And the kit tires are missing as well One can never have too many uptops.
martinfan5 Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 One can never have too many uptops. Speaking of tops, least the roof isnt chopped I found the tires, the fell out of of the box
ToyLvr Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Picked up this one that's been on my "Holy Grail" list a while. See if you can identify....
hgbben Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Picked up this one that's been on my "Holy Grail" list a while. See if you can identify.... George Barris custom Mustang. Sonny and Cher had one each
ToyLvr Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Sonny and Cher Mustang CORRECT! For those not familiar with this Barris creation, see the following link:http://www.ponysite.de/sonny_cher.htm
unclescott58 Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Just got home from work, and found the Fujimi 1/24 scale Ferrari 250 GTO waiting for me. Got it at a good price, and fairly fast from Tokyo Hobby in Japan. Looks like a very nice kit. And I'm very impressed with speed it got to me. Scott

martinfan5 Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 That's very strange, just been to check all my Gti its, luckily there all fine with not a sign of any convertible parts to be seen ... I am the third person so far , so who knows how many are out there that have the two parts trees belonging to the Cabrio kit, and are there Cabrio kits out there with the GTi parts trees ?
dublin boy Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 My Cabrio is fine, only 'extra' parts are hubcaps for a steel wheel version, not included. Make out of that what you will, they didn't cast them for the craic.
martinfan5 Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Make out of that what you will, they didn't cast them for the craic. Not sure I understand what you are saying.
dublin boy Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 There must be a steel wheel ie a basic version in the works somewhere? Maybe a German spec Police car... I have no idea Jonathan as to why they are there, one set of Scirocco type alloys only with the Cabrio, the GTI never had them.
unclescott58 Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Still interested in knowing, Shay. What does "craic" mean? Scott
chunkypeanutbutter Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 (edited) "Heck of it," maybe? Ah! Here: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Craic Edited February 4, 2015 by chunkypeanutbutter
Deathgoblin Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Got in the AMT Country Time Bobby Hamilton Olds Cutlass. It looks like it'll be a fun kit.
ChrisBcritter Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Sonny and Cher Mustang Had one of these when it was new; even then I thought Barris sure succeeded in making a Mustang look like a '63 Tempest...
gtx6970 Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 In my local hobby shop yesterday to get paint supplies,,, and picked up a set of the parts pack blue line slicks while I was there

GeeBee Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 (edited) Just checked and the GTi out and it has the same hubcaps, looks like Revell as something up their sleeve ... Edited February 4, 2015 by GeeBee
Tom Geiger Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 I wouldn't be surprised. We've seen multiple releases off the same tool from them in the recent past!
