To borrow another Pic from Crispy

I picked this up from my LHS today

I didn't know this one was available till Crispy got his.

Very nice kit too

No Current plans as of yet but somewhere down the road there will be.

Something about this kit over the regular SLR I like more. Not sure if it's the wheels or what. Tamiya nice though.

Didn't get any models this weekend, but saw a lot of interesting old and new cars in So Cal this weekend, incl. an SLR on I-5 north of San Diego. Had a quiet weekend at the beach.

I wanted to get a SLR but just didn't seem to look all that Great Gotta-Have-ones to get.

Then I saw the SLR 722 you got and just had to get me one.

Plus I found a LHS that could order them as cheap as I could get on-line with shipping.

Sooze I get me one. B)

What's the exchange rate between the UK and US? The shop I work at asks $4.70 for a roll of the stuff.

I went on a buying binge and got my first batch of stuff in the mail yesterday. Some interesting stuff like a chassis and a mint set of Pontiac 8 lugs wheels from my good friend George for my '64 Bonneville hardtop ( Thank you George!!!:D ), a '63 Pontiac Bonneville convertible annual, a '64 Bonneville convertible annual and a couple of '59 Ford convertible annuals..

But here's my newly arrived '63 Metoer HT that I am going to restore and give to a dear friend who bought one of these when they were new. He has another one today but I'll do this to replicate the new one that he bought 'way back when. I love these gooped up paint jobs 'cause when it is all removed, there is more often than not a VERY decent and clean model under neath it all. :P It'll be a lot of fun bringing this little guy back to life.. I only hope that I can do it justice. Herb's health isn't doing so good so this will be a priority and I know that he will like the little car when he gets it. I need some pieces for it yet like a steering column and fender skirts and the rest is coming from The Modelhaus. I may use a '61 or 62 galaxie steering wheel as they are close to what the Fairlanes and Meteors had. I don't know wht The Modelhaus doesn't offer a steering wheel for these cars because the '62/3 fairlanes used the same wheel. I may convert this to a bench seat car as i think his didn't have buckets I am waiting on another friend to get those details out of Herb in a discreet way but I have lots to do in the meantime on it. I may post pictures of the project as it moves along. :D

This little '64 Chevy is somewhat of a puzzle to me. I am not sure if someone used a newer release cab or what - take a look and give me your feedback. It's on a screw base chassis.. what is your opinion? This one is just going to sit on the shelf for awhile - I have three projects on the go now and I am not starting another one. The windshield pillars are messed up on the cab so I may have to do some surgery.. that should be interesting... other than that and it needing stock dog dish caps ( it appears to have '60 Ford dog dish caps on it at this time ) and a 250 six cylinder engine, it's just fine for now. I've been wanting one of these in a long wide box for a long time and I am just so hapy and grateful now that I have one! it makes me smile every time that I look at it! I know,I know - small things amuse small minds but it does make me happy! :D It'll be repainted in due time in Seafoam Green, the same colour as a '64 that we used to drive and still own. The American colour books show the colour as Light green but when I repainted one of these trucks in the colour that our truck is, the Canadian colour books used the name Seafoam green for the colour. That truck has a story behind it and hopefully one day, it will be refurbished and driven again. I like the red but it has to go in order to look like our trusty old "Boopsy" - our old 1:1 '64.

Today I bought a few paints to get my first kit done.

Flat black, semi gloss black, flat white, Chevy engine red, aluminium and steel. Plus a spray primer and some Tamiya Gold. The young fella has decided it was gold or nothing... I would have preferred a champagne but I'm hoping we can make something of this gold on a 1960 Impala.

I did baulk at the total cost- mostly because the wife was over my shoulder but most of those colours will see me through a few kits so I'm taking the initial outlay option!

That would be the ORIGINAL Issue AMT 64,The Revell cab is a little different,They may have used the emblems from the revell 64 though,Good luck on that 62-63 Meteor,Looks like the paint will strip off with no problems,By the way you can get all the chrome from the modelhaus,Nice score!

Recent purchases..

The 63 Cadillac convertible will be my first rebuild.

I used the water/freezer trick to take it apart, worked well.

I have it in primer and trying to make up my mind what direction to take.

I ordered from Hobbytown the metal rod and plastic for axles, unfortunately the plastic is wrong gauge so I have some molding instead.

I took a ride Saturday(about 50 miles roundtrip) to a hobby shop I came across on Ebay, nice selection and the Modelmasters is discontinued so it was $1.50 per can. :D

i know i'm a little behind on the time with this.. but..

i finally completed the collection of all the chevies that i wanted. 57 chevy, and 58-67 impalas.

i'm gonna start with the 57 and work my way through the ranks. my plans? build one of each year in stock form, hot rod form (autocross, muscle car, beefy cars, etc), then lowrider form. Hot rod form first!

ok, its been awhile since i posted here, so here it goes.....

i got 2 books from the library book sale:

1:- extraordinary cars

2:- the worlds greatest automobile stylists

also i got some parts for my grandmothers car to keep it running, and

today i stopped at a yard sale and got a revell ford f150 xlt flareside supercab, its an extended cab, but its missing decals, instructions, clear parts tree, chrome parts tree, tires, and the cab is broken, but i paid only $0.50 for it!

and thats about it, i'll try to get pics of the books up later.

Was that purchase over the internet or LHS? Nice haul. Why did you decide to get that particular Dremel instead of the Stylus? Either way, I bought keyless chucks for my Dremels and love them (part #1498 I think).

A few weeks ago, Fujimi 1/20 Williams FW16....a couple of weeks ago the Hasegawa 1/20 Lotus Type 79 JPS and this past week the Fujimi 1/20 Williams FW13b. Still waiting on the Tamiya Lotus Type 79 JPS. It has been a great couple of months for us 1/20 scale F1 guys.

Oh yeah, I just got my Chrysler 300EX Concept that has now become the 300EX Opera Sedan Concept.

Now all I need is time.
