Bought an M2 1/24 '71 HemiCuda diecast at Walmart. It's yellow with Torq-Thrush-ish wheels and Hooker Headers graphics in red and black, but those should come right off with nail polish remover.

Saw a New Ray diecast 1/25 '62 Impala SS in black (with chrome reverse wheels, too!) at Hobby Lobby, retail $19.99. It looks good but not great/perfect. But for no more than I care about '62 Chevies, it'll fill that slot on my shelf just fine. Didn't get it because I spent my coupon on the Airfix 1/72 P-51D, which they finally got in, but if it's still there next trip, I'll snag it.

Not here yet. But I did a buy it now the other day for an original issue Johan 1964 Plymouth Fury convertible. Been looking for one of these for a while now . It wasnt super high  on my want list. But it was there none the less. Nice part is it even has the up to

It will go in the someday pile  for another day. But it at least fills a hole

Love it!

I have the original hardtop kit, but the convertible with an up top would have been a lot nicer!

Thanks, I cant make up my mind if I will keep looking for a hardtop version ,,or not.

Originally,,,when I started looking for one  I had no interest in the hardtop . ( I already have  several copies  of the later issue petty cars )  But interest change. So maybe if I can find one for the right price I may grab one yet. Either way ,,,, This will go quite nice along side my original issue 64 Polara conv ( I actually have 2 of those )

For my Plymouth ? Nope,

I do have a spare 64 Polara drop top  I would use as trade bait. I could even be talked out of the up top from the Plymouth to go with said Dodge

Sorry Bill, I need to have a '64 Fury kit of some sort.

But I would trade my '64 Dodge Polara hard top for a '64 Polara convertible with the up top in like condition. :)

I wanted to have one of each of the flat box '64 Polara & '64 Fury, and I wound up with both hard tops, but I thought that it would have been nice to have one of them in a convertible just to break things up.

I've never been a huge fan of the roof line on the 1962-''64 Dodge and Plymouth hard tops.

I always thought that a convertible with the top up was a much better looking configuration.

I'll be posting Before and After pics down in Diecast when it rises to the top of my Snake-Fu To Do list. But I have several projects I want to get done before I even start this one (M2 '71 Hemi Cuda), so it could be weeks at least.

Sounds good,

Once we get settled in Arizona. I'll dig the 2 Dodges out to compare. I might be interested in working a trade.  Not sure if I'll build this with the top up or not , but regardless I think I have a spare up top anyway ( need to do some looking to be sure once we get settled so it may be a while )

my 2nd conv I bought as just a body. I  knew I had  enough  extra Johan dodges to make the kit complete . ( but its an original Polara conv  body with the side trim ) Not sure if I have both front and rear model year bumpers though. We can talk pm when I get to that point

I like the roof lines on a 64 B body mopar in either  the hardtop or a  sedan . I really like the body lines of a 64 Plymouth in any body style, but especially a convertible with the top down. Top up,not so much

I would love to make a deal with you Bill.

As a matter of fact, we could probably just do a body swap if one of yours is just the body.

I also have the complete interior to go with the hard top that I could trade you for the up top.

I'm going to be using the promo interior in mine.

I might even have an extra dated bumper.

I would have to check.

Talk at you later Bill!

There is no hurry to make a decision.

I probably won't build my Dodge for quite some time either.

But if I had a convertible with an up top........You never know! ;)

I was able to get on the Modelhaus website and make some last purchases for items that I forgot/missed the last time. There were a few things I wasn't able to buy as they were sold out, but overall happy with myself.

I was hoping there would be more kits and conversions still available, but who knows, maybe Don will be able to create some new stuff that I really want !

Was doing my pre-Snake-Fu research and discovered that Plymouth didn't offer a real yellow in 1971. They had Curious Yellow, which I'd call chartreuse or even more of a green than yellow, and Bahama Yellow, which I'd call butterscotch or even more tan than yellow.

That explains why I couldn't remember ever seeing a yellow '71 HemiCuda, or even non-hemi '71Cuda for that matter.

Oh well. I'm going to have a yellow '71 HemiCuda on my shelf, sooner or later. B)

Got some little stuff over the weekend:

5b7aa88d024cf_63oldsbumper.jpg.8443c393825c6d42b89a92aa4e8d1b2e.jpg

The damaged '63 Olds grille will give up its center bar for the '65 Olds Jetstar I conversion I'm doing (still need '71-'74 Eldorado headlights for it!), and the '64 Falcon custom rear panel I'm going to try to fit into a '61 Galaxie (very similar to the '61 Meteor rear panel).

Also, thanks to Bob Dineen of the LMMCC, I got a small box of old leftover parts including some Revell Parts Pack goodies -  a Corvette chassis and parts of two chrome motorcycles: most of the Triumph minus the front forks, handlebars and front wheel, and the front wheel, forks and exhaust from the Honda.

Finally, huge thanks to Tom Piagari for casting wheelcovers and taillights for my '61 Plymouth and improved wheelcovers for my Jo-Han '61 Cadillac (the custom ones from the AMT '64 Mercury with crests from the too-flat Jo-Han covers added).

Good haul as I know both of the guys you mentioned and they're both good guys. It's great to have friends that can and will help you out when you need it.

I was worried that I may never get this one. I asked my local shop if they had one and I was disappointed to hear that there was one on the shelf this morning but it sold, after looking in the system it still showed they had one. The shop owners daughter said oh yeah it in the back, that young lady made my week! And they had ALL plastic kits 15% off.

Sure is! drinking25.gif.26471f817116708d67d5c710eb885887.gif

By the way, I test-fitted the taillight panel on a '61 Ford body and it's about 1/4" too narrow, but I can split it in the middle and add the gas filler lid to take up the gap :).

I picked up another Foose FD-100 today at HL. There was two more there when I left if anyone around the Houston area west side is interested.
