Mike999 Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 (edited) A new paint rack. $4.00 at a thrift shop. It's a "Lazy Susan" thingamajig that turns. Saves a lot of room on the bench. Other special-purpose paints, like metallics, I keep in a different place. Edited March 27, 2019 by Mike999 omit
Lizard Racing Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 Just when i think I've done everything I wanted to do with race cars, this Monogram Mercedes 300SLR shows up on ebay. It will join the Heller Blower Bentley and Monogram Chaparral in the stash.

I could have built one myself from scratch but I'm not that talents. This will do. I just can't figure out the towing part. If I put it together correctly or not. Great looking wrecker!
Joe Handley Posted March 28, 2019 Posted March 28, 2019 Got an order from Kris Morgan! A full set of Mopar Recall wheels, a replacment for a damaged one (got crunched in shipping), and a couple of his Finned Hudson Heads

And $20 delivered. A collectable and lower that most I've seen on Ebay. The lights light up and it makes some sort of noise. But I didn't have the right batteries to see if they work. Not that I'd ever use them.
Rodent Posted March 28, 2019 Posted March 28, 2019 Got some Chrysler steelies and some T/As from Joseph yesterday. I plan to use the wheels on a '71 Duster.

Super28 Posted March 28, 2019 Posted March 28, 2019 Got this today. Break from habit and put it as #6, after the 1970 Firebird. IF my OCD lets me.
The Junkman Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 (edited) I'm hoping this works out. I found a Fujimi Porsche 917 on Amazon last week. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MMWAFVI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The thing is; it was priced at $7.14 with $0.00 shipping. Obviously that's changed in the interim. I pulled the trigger on it because: why not! I just got a shipping notice and its supposed to be on the West Coast (the Best Coast) between the 8th and 23rd of April. I'll let you know how (if) it works out. It sort of reminds me of when Model Expo was blowing out of the plastic model scene. I got two Accurate Miniatures GS Corvettes and a Tamiya Skyraider for (basically) the cost of shipping. I pointed over to my mess of spray cans and said that was next, I needed to sort them all out, toss the dead ones and organize them better. I have a few small Lazy Susans that are only one high, this baby would solve a good number of my problems. I will check a few stores like Walmart and Odd Lots to see if there's anything like it. Thanks for posting!
Wm David Green Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 Very happy with these recent acquisitions. The Perfect Plastic Productions NASCAR tires & Holman Moody 9" wheels, are to replace those of the Lindberg/AMT 1961 Impala and AMT 1962 Bel Air. These PPP goodies are a new discovery for me, love 'em, vast improvement over kit wheels & tires, and have ordered more as I am now planning to change wheels on other kits. I don't like skinny little wheels on big American cars !

Dentz Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 1/16 scale Ferrari 512 BB. The box is a little worse for wear but the kit is gorgeous. Some of the nicest body molding I've seen. Anyone know if there is a good photo etch kit for these?

HomerS Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 I believe it's the TransAm Javelin......unpainted and complete
ChrisBcritter Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 Got outbid today (heavily) on a set of original '65 El Camino taillights and bezels (the ones that have been missing from the kit since the late '70s). So I did the next best thing: Threw out a lowball "Make Offer" bid on this clean build of the original issue Gear Hustler and got it for less than I would have had to pay for the taillights and bezels! Now to cast some copies...

I have their 74 AMX snap missing the glass and dashboard sadly. I loved Johan kits..all them were good ones.

I tried to find a built stock car version to pilfer the hood to no avail. All the hoods I found on line had a hole in the middle. No resin options unless I wanted to buy the whole kit.
