rustbucket82 Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 First thing that pops to mind for me is Jaguar!!! me too
martinfan5 Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 (edited) You do know that is not a final production version, and yes, this is the styling that Ford has been considering going with for the 2015 Mustang, will it look like this, maybe, but all the images of the "2015" Mustang on the interwebs are renderings of that the production version will look like , what is in the picture is a concept design I believe the grill and headlight treatment is a part of Fords, "one Ford policy" Ford has not officaly revealed the 2015 Mustang, this is a rendering Edited April 5, 2013 by martinfan5
Hollywood Jim Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 FAIL !! But I hope they build it. Because if they do it will make the 2007, 2008, 2009 much more desirable. ( Of course they will build it. So they can someday go retro and bring back the "old" body style from 2007, 2008 ans 2009.... LOL ) .
martinfan5 Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 (edited) First thing that pops to mind for me is Jaguar!!! The lines are more from Aston Martin and the and are very close to the DBS, same with the grill Gee, why does this pic look so familiar Edited April 5, 2013 by martinfan5
JM485 Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Looks like the new Taurus and the Aston mixed together. I think I would throw up if the new mustang looked anything like that.
Joe Handley Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 I like it so far. Change the front end a little so the headlights are "taller" and the grill a bit more "square", add some sort of scoop like depression to the sides, and reshape the fenders and quarters to have a slightly raised "edge" ala C-6&7 Vette's and it would be more Mustang like without looking like yet another rehash of the '64.5-'69 Mustang.
charlie8575 Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 The front needs work. Those slit headlights just don't work for me. The profile looks okay. I'm not sure if I'm in love with it or not, but it's not a bad-looking car. Perhpas I will go for that new 'Stang if the ship rights for me. Charlie Larkin
cobraman Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 I don't think the car looks too bad but it doesn't say " Mustang " to me.
kalbert Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 I'd rather see an original crazy design from GM and Ford. Rehashed 5+ year old Aston and Ferrari designs are not cool. Might asgo well be a Lambo body kit onit a Fiero. Retro is still very much alive, I don't know why they wouldn't capitalize on that with an even more retro look for the next gen. People looking for a European supercar are not going to buy a US knockoff, and people who want an American pony car don't know want wannabe European styling.
Kaleb Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Looks like one person designs all the new cars coming out, still stuck in the 50's and 60's wondering what the cars of the future would look like.
Guest Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Only thing is that's not the 2015 Mustang. As Jonathan clearly pointed out, it's a photo shop of an '08 Astin Martin DBS.
jaydar Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 First thing that pops to mind for me is Jaguar!!! i was thinking Aston Martin!!
Rob Hall Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Until official images of a production model are released, can't really say anything...this is just pointless speculation at this point.
Blown03SVT Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 I would like to speculate that it will look better than that rendering. I know the design has to grow and evolve as retro is faddish and after a while passe', but I think the car should retain some of the DNA and design lineage like those that went before it. To be fair though the S-197 2010 redesign took some getting used too. Ford needs this one to be a grand slam like the 2005 car was, and they need to leave the doors open for modification and personalization as the Mustang is one of the most popular platforms for gear heads.
Harry P. Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Only thing is that's not the 2015 Mustang. As Jonathan clearly pointed out, it's a photo shop of an '08 Astin Martin DBS. Exactly.
Erik Smith Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 There is no way to open the hood!!! Must be a low maintenance engine. The PS job is a little sloppy - just the Martin with a Fusion grill "fused" in
slusher Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 (edited) iF it is a mustang. IT's a big change, but a very sharp car. Edited April 5, 2013 by slusher
Exotics_Builder Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 That’s just one of the speculations floating out there. Here’s a couple more: Stay tuned I’d say. Although the scuttlebutt is that the retro look is out and both Chevy and Ford will update their Pony Cars to more modern looks. I can’t believe they won’t leave in some nostalgia clues to celebrate the heritage.
JM485 Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 That is a nice looking car, but definitely not the right direction for a Mustang. The current mustangs have an awesome, aggressive look to them, and all this reminds me of is a turtle. I honestly think ford will really miss the mark if they put this car out.
Scale-Master Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Didn't anyone learn from the last debate/discussion about the new Corvette that until the manufacturer unveils it, it is just rampant speculation based on fantasy?
