Jordan White
I just got some white decals from him, so he may be setup now. I asked about making white Yenko decals, maybe he had some already-made white decals on hand in another style to sell.
Casey
Earlier versions of this kit included the white skunk stripe decals, so they are available if you can find a set.
Jared Roach
So I just picked this kit up and I am very pleased with it except for one thing. These hollow firestone tires for the stock wheels are all flat on one side where they were attached to the tree. Anyway to fix that? I'm thinking about putting something in there to fill them but I'm not sure yet? Here's a pic The new wheels tires are awesome and very well done. The new tires are exactly the same tread pattern on my 1:1 which are BFGoodrich kdw g-force t/a's.

Man , those stock Firestones look perfect , especially for a kit whose price is nearing the hundred dollar mark ! ( ). What the deuce is going on in good ol' China and their "cheaper labour" factories ?!?!? Looks like it's time to pick-up camp and bring the tooling home ... Far cry from a 100.00 price tag. The Foose tires were oval in my kit, nothing too bad.
Casey
That is awesome !! Man , those stock Firestones look perfect , especially for a kit whose price is nearing the hundred dollar mark ! ( ). More like $46.46 delivered to your door. It looks like a packaging issue with the tires. I don't recall how previous version's tires were packed, but IIRC they were all separate and loose inside the box. It might have to do with the tire material Revell is using, too. I guess I will see what the tires in mine look like tomorrow when it arrives. How do they tires look once the wheel fronts and backs are placed in position? My seeming overexaggeration of the kit's price is due to seeing so many on eBay going for super-high prices . Good to know that the kit's reasonablly-priced ; I may have to pick one up ! towtruck
the tires in mine were flat also. bummer !! otherwise it's an excellent kit. thanks R.M.
Jared Roach
I put the front and back wheel parts together yesterday and it seems to be slowly turning back to being round but there is still a flat spot. It's not as obvious as before but it is still there.
bosshog
I had that issue on the old kit and I left them in really hot water and the came back to shape in about an hour.
ImpalaBoy
I like to think I take pretty good pictures, so here's a review for people out there who might be considering getting one of these and have never seen the original release from the '80s either. If there's anything you'd like to see a closer-up picture of, let me know. This a beautifully detailed kit with tons of parts, and so far I'd recommend it to anyone looking to build a 1/12 model. This will actually be my first 1/12 scale and I think I made a great choice. Edited January 10, 2014 by ImpalaBoy
ImpalaBoy
Rear window also includes rear side glass. Pretty nice looking wood paneling decals for the dash board.
ImpalaBoy
Nicely hollowed out grill, but still needs a little cleaning up. Instructions include actual size diagrams to show how long to make ignition wires and heater hoses. Tail lights have space for reverse lights, which protrude from the reflector bezels. ImpalaBoy
Customs wheels have very nice tread detail. No sidewall markings. Front tires are smaller than rear tires. Stock tires are extremely well detailed. The ones in my kit are pretty round. A couple are just a little flat where they attach to the sprue, but I saw bosshog say they should be fine if you dip them in hot water for about an hour. If you can read this, you don't need glasses. (anyone know that reference?) Ok, that's it. If anybody wants any more pictures, let me know. Edited January 10, 2014 by ImpalaBoy
Jared Roach
Well I think I found a solution for the tires. I had some 1/4in wire loom sitting on the bench for the 1:1 but I never got to it yet lol. I decided to cut a piece to length and stuffed it inside the tire. Seems to have made it round again and also makes the tire more firm and supportive.
Chuck Kourouklis
There you go. The foam blocks Tamiya gives you for supporting the tires in its latest 1:6 Harley kit had me thinking you'd want to do something like that, but I had no idea what to recommend for your stuffing material. Looks like you hit on the best solution!
clovis
Wow!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!! I have never seen the original, nor have I seen this new kit. It certainly looks like a winner, and a great build. Again, thank you for sharing!!!!!!!! I do appreciate it!!!!
