Dominik Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 (edited) I like to present you my Chrysler 300 (1955) from Moebius. Some courtesies the kit needs, but i am very impressed. Like the Hudson, its a fabulous kit. Love it! One of the sexiest cars of the 50s. Only thing i'm missing in the kit is a rear mirror. ...must build my own. Another thing are the decals for the lettering. Good idea for "Non-BMF-user", but why is no decal for the emblems there? That needs a sloooooowwwwww hand, to paint it. That slow hand, i didn't have yet. I'll catch up those two things. Mirror and emblems. What have i done? I choosed another colour, because red, white or black are not my favorite on it. I know about historical correctness, but: its good to be different Also i thought, a metallic paint makes the body smoother and you see the lines flowting. I painted with spraycan, used BMF (a lot of it and more patience) for the trim. Not polished, sanding or something. Only clearcoat for finish. Made some wiring under the hood, some little changes around the car. Enjoy, her we go:, Thank you for attention, comments welcome Edited July 17, 2013 by Dominik
PappyD340 Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 INCREDIBLE job Dominik, hey it's OK to be different I like the color myself, must be the wife's car since it's got the name Carol on the licence tag, BTW I wasn't going to mention the mirrors, but glad you clarified your intentions, maybe the mirror policeman won't be to hard on you(lol)!! Anyway great looking build!!
Scuderia Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Man that car is pretty and your detail and photography are smashing, well done!
slusher Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Gorgeous build Dominik. Great color choice, and detail...
crazyjim Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Who could want more than sweet, clean, and SHINY :) ? Super build, Dom.
Blown03SVT Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 No need to have polished it, the paint and clear seems to flowed out great. That looks beautiful. Great detailing too
drodg Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Btw I think the outside rear view mirror was optional on the 55 Chryslers. I had a 56 300B a few years ago and I believe it did not have an outside mirror. So Moebius was at least correct in not having an outside rear view mirror. I finished my 55 this year and I loved the kit.
beeRS Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 An excellent job Dominik! That paint job came out well. especially considering it did not get polished.
Ramfins59 Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 That's an absolutely beautiful build Dominik. I can't wait to build one myself.
gtx6970 Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Looks amazing. and as an fyi, On a 1955 Chrysler 300 - an outside rear view mirror was not avail either as standard or as an option
Dominik Posted July 19, 2013 Author Posted July 19, 2013 Thank you very much buddies, i appreciate it! The kit building is really a lot of fun - it fits simply perfect. I didn't knew, that the mirror was an extra to buy. thanks for the education!
