Renegade Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Been there, seen that. Yesterday, while on my way to an appointment, I was sitting on the feeder road in the left turn optional lane. The truck in the must turn lane proceeded to go straight through the red light. The person behind him, after waiting for the light to turn green, did the exact same thing. Good thing I was not turning or it might have been a great accident.

Tom Geiger Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 All I can say about this election is if someone had written this as a novel, nobody would publish it because, "This couldn't happen in real life!"

SfanGoch Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 You're fortunate that it didn't happen while you were driving.A friend at work had a brand new 1989 Mercury Sable. One morning, he showed up late at the job fuming. Before asking him why he was steamed, I asked him if he heard the recall report about Sables on the news that morning. Seems that there was a problem with the power seat wiring harness getting abraded and causing the wiring harness to catch fire. He said that he didn't see it but found out the hard way. He was sitting at a light on the way to work when the seat cushion started getting really hot. He pulled over, turned off the ignition and got out. The seat started smoking and burst into flames. By the time FDNY arrived, the car was a total loss
Ace-Garageguy Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Not irked, just saddened. The 3-year-old son of a guy I work with sometimes died unexpectedly of a massive brain hemorrhage.Take time to be nice to the people you love. Every day could be the last.

cobraman Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 That is sad Bill. And your right, the last time you see someone could really be the last time you see them.

slusher Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 My wife adopted a stray cat about 2 months ago. Cute little blue eyed kitten about 7 months old and we believe she was with kittens because she has been here 2 months and was very scared of people. She would eat with our cat and stayed here. She would play with bugs, leaves ans was very small. The neighbors cat and our cats have been fixed. She went into labor and could not have the kittens she was to young and small and we lost her. Long haired, yellow and blue eyed. I helped my wife dig her a grave and put rocks over it so an animal will not dig her up. My wife cried so hard be cause she wanted to tame her. People throw out animals from time to time because my street and the next street dead ends to a service road that connects them. She had been mis-treated but was coming around...Make me more sad then anything...

Ace-Garageguy Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 (edited) Some damm numbnuts drove into the side of my old truck earlier this PM. Guy was in the center lane, simply turned right smack into me...I was in the right lane. I saw him coming, tried to avoid a hard collision and pulled the truck farther right, ran over a curb and bent my own front suspension. Fool still hit me, broke my mirror and did a little sheetmetal damage to the LH front fender and door. Ten more feet down the road and I would have run head-on into a phone pole. Twenty feet farther down the road I would have rolled the truck over a 4-foot retaining wall, totaled it for sure.Moron.And the first thing the little POS said when he got to my window was "you hit my car!"I got a little angry (understatement) because avoiding adult responsibility REALLY gets my back up. Chickenexcrement cretin got on his phone calling his lawyer telling him I was threatening him with bodily harm, then kept on telling me I hit HIM and getting in my face, trying to goad me into taking a poke at him. Cheez.Police were called, gave the other guy the citation for "improper lane change".This is only the second "accident" I've ever been involved in. I've NEVER had an insurance claim...EVER. Both times the other idiot drove into me for no particular reason other than being stupid and not paying attention. Edited June 17, 2016 by Ace-Garageguy

Its just my own guess, but it was probably him playing on said phone and not paying attention that caused the wreck. They can check his cell phone records to confirm. I think they all do that now as SOP. Edited June 17, 2016 by bismarck
