Sure it will. Just wait for the griping about the price. It's gonna happen.

It will happen. There is always the 'I don't care how much it costs' or 'I'll buy at least a case' crowd, then everyone is up in arms when it costs more than a dollar.

Yup, and we've all seen it on the boards. A resin caster will show a master that he's thinking of doing. There will be 25+ replies all vowing to buy the product. Resin caster invests the money in the mold and sells maybe 5 copies!

I can't wait for the moaning... there will be a certain group who will be waiting for this kit to hit Michaels or Hobby Lobby so they can use their 40% off coupon.

That will never happen

The only possible way to save any money on this kit , and again, I am saying "possible" is to import the kit yourself from a retailer outside of the US, even with shipping cost, you still might save a little bit to make it worth while, but we wont know this tell the price is listed and we see what the retailers are going to charge for it, both here and outside of the US

Price is a secondary consideration for me in the case of this model, I have waited for a decent late model truck too long to let a price of $40, 50 or 60 scare me off. I won't be buying a case of them but at least 2 or 3.

X2! I've paid more for less before. So, I sure won't mind paying more for more! Not many people will even blink an eye to pay $70-$80 (sometimes much more) for an old AMT, MPC, JoHan or Monogram kit. None of which have the detail this kit has. I'm already saving up my money for this kit. I'll buy as many as I can possibly afford! I'm hoping to buy at least three when they come out.

i paid 50+shipping for an aurora GT40 kit so if this has a decent but high price, being a kit ive hoped for for the past few years ill most likely save for one on my walmart pay checks

Now, that I think about it, I'm sure if Meng does come out with this kit, there just may be some "sharing" of the tooling....Just like Revell Germany and Moebius on the Lonestar.....I know it's wishful thinking, but it is a possibility....

Hmmm, never thought of that. Has Meng done that before?

I don't think Meng has been around long enough to do that, Other than increased distribution for Meng, I can't see the benefit as it wouldn't drop the price of the kit any for the end user, if anything it'd be more expensive, as seen with the Revell AG Moebius kits. With Revell AG now being owned by Hobbico, I'm not sure I can see them re-packaging this one downstream since that would make the folks there who've insisted there was no market for pick-up kits look like they were reading the tea leaves incorrectly.

, as a model It'll be a BIG model! It should look REALLY nice! Nice ta see a new company out there!

WOW! That's a BIG truck in REAL life

LOL! Evidentally you don't build big rig models.

Looks like it's 166 parts, that'd hang in there with most big rig kits.

45 year old AMT truck kits have 250 parts. The Moebius Lonestar and Prostar have over 300 parts and retail for $70. Nice try.

That's like comparing apples to oranges, a big rig and a pickup, albeit a heavy duty pickup, are two completely different pieces of equipment. If you would be comparing the parts counts in kits like Revell/Monogram's Ford F250 and F350s, AMT's Ford 90s era F150, Revell's late 90s Chevy 1500 or Dodge VTS, or even Fujimi's US spec Toyota Longbed maybe you'd have an argument and would actually be comparing apples to apples.

Well allow me to stand thoroughly corrected, I'm glad you finally dug up the numbers a month after the fact to assure you had the last word in the matter...glad I only paid $42 for my ProStar though.

I said retail. I paid $43 for mine.

I paid $44 for mine, no tax, no shipping, since we are having a measuring contest

Well, since we are measuring here, I paid $0 for my Lonestar!! :D I win thanks to Santa Claus!!!

A local hobby shop in the UK has it listed for a March release date, and a price of 35 pounds which is about $50us, that is a 20% off price for a pre ordering

Stevens Intl and Military Models are the two that Meng list for being USA distributors and Stevens does not have it listed yet as of this post

I clicked on the flag at the top and found the US Dollar conversion and it was $60. So put me down for one.

Whoa! That's way more than a Moebius Prostar and Lonestar and they have twice as many parts!

That's almost has much as an Italeri big rig kit and they have more parts.

Those are big rig kits, though. Different genre than a pickup kit..and there is no correlation between price and parts count.

Brett, do you have any idea around when they will be arriving? I'm gonna start with pre ordering two, maybe three. Thanx for the link!

There isn't? How so?

There isn't? How so?

Who said there was? Some more expensive kits have fewer parts than other kits of the same scale that are cheaper. Some more expensive kits have more parts. There is a lot of variation, esp. when comparing domestic vs import brand kits. It's a fallacy to assume a higher price means more parts..there are more contributing factors to price than simply parts count.
