Snake45 Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 "Cinnamon Girl," Neil Young's third best song of all time.
iamsuperdan Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 This was released today. A bunch of artists got together to record a version of Faith No More's We Care A Lot. This is to raise funds for www.roadierelief.com. Great cover of a great song from one of my fav bands of all time. And of course, the original...
iamsuperdan Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 I know! That surprised me when I saw him in there! All these metal guys...and a man without a hat.

1930fordpickup Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 I fooled around and fell in Love sang by some women. It is great. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=elle+king+miranda+lambert&&view=detail&mid=C35AE594A47DB543027BC35AE594A47DB543027B&&FORM=VRDGAR
1930fordpickup Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 Snake I watched that and could not believe that Kelly was the only one singing along. I think they have no idea what rock is, like when a girl on Idol sang a Heart song ( Barracuda) and Simon said he did not know the song.
Joe Handley Posted November 5, 2020 Posted November 5, 2020 (edited) I blame AC/DC for finding this band..... Edited November 5, 2020 by Joe Handley
Snake45 Posted November 19, 2020 Posted November 19, 2020 "Wicked Game" as you've never heard it before. A very haunting version:

Snake45 Posted November 19, 2020 Posted November 19, 2020 Sorry you didn't like it. I didn't say it was better, just different. I respect artists who try to come up with a new interpretation of a song and not just karaoke the version we've heard a million times. Apparently these two contestants came up with this original version on their own. FWIW, the judges liked it, and the "loser" of the battle got "stolen," which is pretty high praise on this show.

Hey, no need to be sorry about it. We all like different stuff. Sometimes a cover is better than the original,,, The Crash Test Dummies cover of "Peter Pumpkinhead" ,, to me, is much better than XTC's original. But that's just me. As with models,, the world would be pretty boring if we all liked the same stuff. ?
Draggon Posted November 21, 2020 Posted November 21, 2020 Some folks that can remember 1977 should be familiar with "Ca Plane Pour Moi" by Plastic Bertrand. I think this one's better.
iamsuperdan Posted November 25, 2020 Posted November 25, 2020 A lot of people know the original... I much prefer the cover by 3Teeth.

Snake45 Posted November 25, 2020 Posted November 25, 2020 My main recollection of this song is that once someone auditioned with it on The Voice, and Blake Shelton actually knew what it was and recognized it, which surprised some of the other coaches.
larmcmains Posted November 25, 2020 Posted November 25, 2020 Check out Blackberry Smoke, they have many really cool covers on YT. My favorite is probably Tom Petty's "You Got Lucky". And there is a live version of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" from the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame ceremony with Tom Petty on vocals and Prince doing the guitar solo that is awesome. Prince shreds on the solo.
iamsuperdan Posted December 15, 2020 Posted December 15, 2020 Well, it's not a well known song, but I suspect it will now become slightly more popular. Alice Cooper just released "Our Love Will Change The World." It's the lead single for his upcoming album of covers of Detroit music. And here's the original. Alice has been playing this song live for a while now. I kind of wonder though...why cover a song if you don't really put your own spin on it? I mean, I like it, but at this point, you might as well listen to the original.
Snake45 Posted May 29, 2021 Posted May 29, 2021 This year's winner of The Voice, Cam Anthony, rocks "She Drives Me Crazy" with his coach--hang onto something--Blake Shelton: And the kid also did a very credible rendition of Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead or Alive:"
ChrisBcritter Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 One of my all-time favorite covers! Allan Clarke may not be the Boss but who else had the nerve to try it?
ChrisBcritter Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 Now going waaaaaay back... Who'd have thought the Mills Brothers could rock and roll?
