Brizio Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 (edited) I think to build these three... The kit is average, inside the box there are tons of bags, with parts. The kit is made out of plastic and white metal, rubber tires, seats and side panels. There are a lot of parts, and also some photo etch. The first thing on the tires are missing the name on the side... So need to find the letters for it, any idea to find some appropriate letters? Edited May 28, 2017 by Brizio
Miatatom Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Sure wish I could find just one at a price I could afford.
Brizio Posted June 12, 2014 Author Posted June 12, 2014 Sure wish I could find just one at a price I could afford. Sometime it take time, it's been few years since I start to look for these kits, and I was able to find without pay an arm or a leg. Of course it was not a Revel price, but also not the crazy one that you can see on ebay.

cobraman Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 I know that kit very well. I hope you build one up. I would love to see it. I sold my kit to a buddy that wanted it bad. Thought I would just pick up another. They went from about 60 bucks to 125 or so in a pretty short time. I still need to get another for my collection.
wisdonm Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Try Indycals for tire decals. http://www.indycals.net/decals/tires.html

Jantrix Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 There is no way I could maintain interest in building three of the same kit, unless one was a race car, one was a 4x4 and one was a post apocalyptic zombie killer. My hat's off to you sir, I look forward to seeing the work.

Agree, the price went up crazy, good luck to find one.

Brizio Posted June 13, 2014 Author Posted June 13, 2014 I just finished the Gunze kit in Ragoon Red IMAG0507.jpg Very nice job Len! I like it in red, but I think to paint mine in blue. There is no way I could maintain interest in building three of the same kit, unless one was a race car, one was a 4x4 and one was a post apocalyptic zombie killer. My hat's off to you sir, I look forward to seeing the work. Me too usually I don't like to build the same car/configuration, but with these is different. Plus I think it will be easier... I think... And save time too! Will see... Thanks!
Brizio Posted June 14, 2014 Author Posted June 14, 2014 (edited) The big difference between the first and second edition is some graphic on the box. First edition kit on top. Some other differences on the boxes. Here on the 1sst ed. it say something in Japanese on the left side and under the picture of the car it say 4500, on the 2nd edition 5000. 1st edition box. Bottom. Finally the kit... Edited March 1, 2017 by Brizio
Brizio Posted June 14, 2014 Author Posted June 14, 2014 (edited) Very cool and interesting model.. Thank you Carl! Here what I have so far. Start to build the chassis using the 1/1 reference on the instructions. The front suspension are on. Little bit off. needs work to make fit it correctly. Edited March 1, 2017 by Brizio
DynoMight Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 wait, you build the chassis? Or are you scratchbuilding it?
Len Woodruff Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 The chassis comes with 2 brass tubes and metal cross pieces that have to be glued together. It is a real PITA.
DynoMight Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 The chassis comes with 2 brass tubes and metal cross pieces that have to be glued together. It is a real PITA. Oh wow..
Brizio Posted June 15, 2014 Author Posted June 15, 2014 (edited) wait, you build the chassis? Or are you scratchbuilding it? Agree on what Len said. Here the picture of the instructions. This the white metal parts, and parts list. Here show how to bend the metal bars (also provided on the kit) for build the front part of the chassis. The draw is in 1/1 scale with the part. Same also for the rear of the chassis. Edited March 1, 2017 by Brizio
