What did you see on the road today?

Saw a Rivian truck crashed by a Jeep Cherokee on a surface road. Unable to get pics. First Rivian I have seen and a wrecked at that.

Ahh, Rivian.  For those who just don't think a Cybertruck is ugly enough.

I'm surprised at how well they all look. The Forestry people must really take care of their equipment! I'd like to find one and lower it a little, but otherwise leave the exterior stock. Maybe add some sound proofing, a higher level seat and a few comfort options inside for a fun daily driver.

There's a Cybertruck at the used car lot about a mile from my house. It's been there a few days or so, has some kind of sticker on the windshield. What's even weirder than that is that my end of town isn't exactly high brow. Mobile homes and junkyards as far as the eye can see.

They were pretty common in DC. A lot of them were used as handicapped and medical transports. The first time or two I saw one, I thought they were Hondas. It looked like an oversized Element to me.

That thing is wild,a bit strange looking,but then again so am I ?No but seriously it looks pretty top heavy.Be fun to find out.I still haven’t gotten around to calling the owner to see how much he wants.So these things look pretty stout, for lack of a better word.

Neah. To me Rivians look like any other contemporary SUV or pickup. The only strange thing are those vertical Maxi-pad headlights. Cybertruck is much much stranger and uglier.  I saw a black one and drove behind a stainless one recently.  I don't know why anybody would want one. Well, just to be "different" I guess.

i saw a Cybertruck towing a trailer!  i was like, can they do that?  not tow a trailer, be used for actual work ?

then about a quarter mile down that same street i saw another Cybertruck that someone had wrapped a... lets call it dark rust orange.

I have a neighbor that has a Cybertruck NOT wrapped, but factory custom painted all white. Even the wheels.

There's no paint, wrap, or color, that can cover up that much UGLY.

a wrap is a vinyl sticker type material you put over vehicle panels.  you can do different colors, liveries, etc.  you can even run it through a printer and have photo quality images on your car.  it's like giving your car a non permanent paint job.  it's a real popular thing right now.  im not the greatest at explaining stuff, but there's a bunch of videos on youtube if your still curious. 

saw a Camaro this morning that was wrapped in grey camo.  which didn't work cause i mean i immediately saw the car when i turned onto the street.  as i was driving by dubbed the car "Camaro-flauge".  if it's out there again tomorrow ill try to get a pic.

I do know what wraps are, but I just didn't understand the meaning of "lets call it dark rust orange."  That description seemed odd to me. Like you didn't really want to describe what it looked like.  Was the wrap a photo-realistic depiction of a rusty metal surface? Otherwise, what would be wrong with a dark rust orange colored vehicle?  At least this is how my brain saw your comment.  Seemed that you were giving a hint, and I just don't get it.

I think a more suitable wrap for one of these monstrosities would be one of Taco Bells cheesy roll up wraps. At least it would have some tastefulness..

you know how some rust is orange, not like bright orange, like a darker dirty orange?  or a "muddy orange"?  almost had a copper or bronze hue to it.  still had a gloss finish though.  it was a funky color.

The Cybertruck I saw at the used car lot, I thought they were moving it back and forth from the lot to a car wrap shop a quarter mile away. Turns out it was two different trucks. The one at the wrap shop was wrapped today. Camouflage like an old war plane, with the mouth and teeth on the sides.

They can tow a trailer, but according to the road tests I've read, a 5,000 pound load cuts your range in about half. I don't remember the load amount, but one source said they towed a double axle trailer with a muscle car and the range was about 100 miles from full to needing a recharge.
