No worries, it's a well known fact that bears can't tear through shrink wrap! lol

Was craving some McNuggets from McDumpsters, this Checker was in front of me. You don't see them on the road like you used to.

Especially not the civilian models; taxis were way common back then apparently

last weekend near Clinton. MO fender badge says it is an F-5. No evidence there was a seat, but then again the floor was rusted tread/ diamond plate instead of original steel.

A few years ago there was thing about turning small cars into off-roaders. There were a couple of Priuses that they jacked up with RAV4 springs and stuff. Supposed to be pretty good out on the trails.

When I lived in Phoenix I used to see a black Checker sedan in the Arcadia area..

Road on my truck, second half ton load of gravel for the new parking spot for the Honda.

I would never restore Blue Cloud like that Ford, would never get desert pinstriping.

Beautiful day for car spotting. Sunny and temps in the 80s. Sadly, I didn't get pictures of all of them. We went to the Costco at the Domain in Austin, Texas and it seemed like everyone had their weekend drivers out. The place was packed and we circled for ten minutes to find a parking spot. Right in the front was this huge BMW SUV. I'm not familiar of all the models anymore, but it looked a lot bigger than my RX350. Over in a corner was a spotless  red and white Austin Healey, top down and a big bundle of paper towels sticking up from the passenger seat. I circled this orange Porsche twice to get a good look. I thought it might be a Singer, but couldn't tell for sure. There was also a perfect JDM R34 GTR doing grocery hauler duty and a couple of old Chevy trucks, too. Of course, there were the obligatory Land Rovers and Range Rovers. We got on the highway and this silver Porsche was in front of us for a couple of miles.

Saw a decent looking 59 Edsel 2-door HT project car on a trailer and a restomodded 57 Olds Super 88 during the same outing today. It's finally warming up in Northern California. Also saw a dingbat in a Prius forget to stop while exiting a parking lot. The car she pulled out in front of was a black Ford Police Interceptor Utility with gold lettering, white roof and front doors. Party lights were activated.

Ferrari day north of the Golden Gate.  My problem is while I can tell a 250 SWB from a 250 GTO from a 275 GTB/4 from a 365 GTB, all the ones newer than the F40 look alike to me. Saw two solos, one a late model front engine roadster in what was probably Azzurro California and another rear engine in Resale Red.  Then on CA 12, just north of Sonoma an entire Ferrari club went past while Milady was purchasing a trinket at a interior decor store-likely 20-25 one after the other.  It would help if they would consistently put the model number on the rear panel at least so I would know what just passed me.

OTOH, following (way behind) the Ferrari club was a blue-green TR-4A, followed by a pristine 1967 Camaro convertible. Then the topper, about 3 hrs after the Ferrari sightings there was a absolutely cherry early 1960s XKE roadster in a cliche' of BRG over a camel leather interior just parked in front of an antique collective store-beautiful.  Actually a block north, 5 hrs later, and the opposite direction from the first Ferrari sighting.

For all its numerous foibles, February and March are great car watching months in California.  No putting the steed up in November and wait until April to let it out.

I'll call it a good day.
